I felt very domestic today. I was going to work on my log cabin blanket (in Caron Simply Soft, which I have a lot of and can easily procure in New Orleans), but instead I started on another washcloth, wrote Junior Pevensies with
aella_irene and, oh yeah, baked some mutant muffins.
See, I have been making approximately ten million blueberry muffins and I thought I'd bake some more, but I forgot the blueberries are now frozen, so when I went to get them to put into the dry ingredients they were...uh, frozen. So I went and hauled off some branches with my dad (life in the country, so exotic!) then came back, chopped up a couple of strawberries, mixed the wet ingredients, mixed the wet and dry (usually I'd put the blueberries into the dry before this step), then ladled out about half of the mixture into a separate bowl, where I put the strawberries, and then dumped about 3/4 of a cup of blueberries into the main bowl. Then I stuffed it in a greased muffin tin, creating one mutant muffin that was mostly blueberry but had some strawberry in it, and and shoved it in the oven for twenty minutes while I washed up. (Chance that the blueberries were all the way thawed: not high.)
They came out looking...a little odd. I have not tried them yet. I am going to test them on my parents first.
And for those that have not heard yet: First Look at Will Poulter as Eustace and Georgie as Lucy in Dawn Treader. The quality is not so great, but Lucy is starting to look like Susan, at least from this angle. Also, pirate clothes!
