bedlamsbard...I just sat down to type up the Mayor ficlet from the Dust missing scenes I'm doing, decided I should double check names in, you know, actual Dust, and realized that I mistimed the scene by three years and thus completely delegitimized it.
Well, fuck. I don't think it's worth going back to Dust and changing the dates, so. *sulks*
On the other hand, young Mayor and Elizar Confesor are adorable. Too bad we won't see them. Seriously, three years. The difference between Narnia under Tirian's rule and Narnia under Calormene rule. BAH.
And we would have seen more about the branch of the religion that Mayor and Safi come from, too. I figured out what makes it stand out from the general Narnian beliefs -- it's not just that they're fanatics, because they aren't, not really, or that they have slightly different names for the King of Summer and the others, but that they don't believe in Aslan.
And no, I just can't change the dates in the ficlet either. BAH. Just when I was starting to get all excited about Dust again, too.
God, I was so sure the power change came in with the Calormenes, but no, it was when Erlian died and Tirian became king.
And to top it off, I wrote perfectly good Peter and Susan fic a few weeks ago, and I was looking for it to type it up, and I can't find it. ARGH.
