Sep. 26th, 2009 08:55 pmFinally succeeded in finding a used bookstore in the Quarter -- usually we go down and wander around and never find one, but this time we did, and we weren't even looking, so bookstores there are apparently something along the lines of the Room of Requirement. Came away with a Carol O'Connell mystery novel (second-favorite mystery writer, just after Dennis Lehane), my favorite Sharpe book (Sharpe's Enemy, which I borrowed from the library but don't own), and the pre-1994 edition of VotDT. For why one would want to own not one, but two copies of VotDT, and why the publication date matters, one could see here.
They actually had two pre-1994 editions at the bookshop, but I liked the cover art on this one better. I got this edition (scroll down for the VotDT). Also, this one had the more amusing backcover blurb:
Poor Eustace. *pets*
I also succeeded in getting pralines -- three to send to
snacky as soon as I figure out how to box them up, and one for me. Or possibly two for me and two for
snacky, but they're in three and one bags, so, uh. Mmm, pralines.

What a pest! Lucy and Edmund can't ever get away from their cousin Eustace. He follows them wherever they go. And when the magic of Narnia works its spell this time, the three of them are together.
Return to Narnia aboard Prince Caspian's beautiful ship, the Dawn Treader.
