*blows nose* Okay, my entire suite has already been (and partially still is) sick, why am I the only one who gets sick immediately before (and during, knowing how long colds and I usually last together) finals? See: last semester, fever, the realization that no, Japanese does not make any more sense with a temperature and the only time I have ever asked a professor for an extension on a paper.

BAH. I knew this was going to happen.

It is just the very basic beginnings of a cold right now, but I know how this works by now! I know that by about tomorrow or the day after I will be miserable, coughing up all my internal organs, and still going to class.

My advice: get hold of some brandy. Mix with lemon juice and sugar, and top up with boiling water. Drink as close to the bed as possible, then climb in, and shut your eyes. You won't wake up for a while, but you'll feel better.

Oh dear, I'd forgotten. In that case, try the lemon sugar and hot water thing anyway, but the brandy does give it that 'fall asleep standing up' kick.

Another thing to look forward to in Britain! Just remember that Waitrose doesn't take US driving licenses as valid ID, and you're good to go!
