Apr. 17th, 2010 11:06 pmToday I went to the mall and got the following:
One (1) tea infuser from Teavana. The salespeople were very nice, but very aggressive, and I kind of got turned off at the register when I asked if they had kukicha, gave two different Japanese names for the tea, the English name, and then what the tea is made of, and then the cashier showed me sencha. Dude, no. But I am curious about the infuser; I drank a lot more loose leaf tea when I was using the infuser in my tea tumbler, but I switched to a mug, and the tea ball is just so much trouble I'd rather use bag tea! And it was 30% off, too, so it wasn't too much of an investment.
Two (2) bras from Victoria's Secret. I have a bunch of bras that I need to throw out, since the wires are horribly misshapen and I'm not wearing them anymore because I'm kind of afraid of them. So, new bras!
One (1) sundress from Macy's. It is pretty! And I need a casual dress, anyway; I have two that are kind of business-formal that I don't feel comfortable wearing for every day, a floral dress that I wore for graduation and that I could technically wear for every day, but, you know, and the dress that sometimes threatens to fall off and is a party dress.
Two (2) stuffed animals from the Disney Store. AS ONE DOES. Simba and Timon, of course; I looked for Nala, but there was no Nala, and I felt bad at breaking up Timon and Pumbaa, but the other option was Zazu (ADORABLE) and I have less of an attachment to Zazu and Pumbaa than I do Timon and Simba. I was kind of cuddling them both when I was waiting in line at the cashier, with a bunch of mothers and their little pre-school age kids, and the cashier and I kind of looked at each other and I went, "Reliving my childhood!" and we both laughed. They are so soft, y'all, I just keep cuddling Simba. Timon is less cuddly, but just as soft. (Also, I pretty much have the weirdest predator-prey relationship among my stuffed animals ever: I have a polar bear, a rabbit, a lion, and a meerkat. YES I HAVE FOUR STUFFED ANIMALS IN MY COLLEGE DORM ROOM; Y'ALL HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT?)

Date: 2010-04-18 03:54 pm (UTC)I haven't tried out the Teavana infuser yet, but my only warning is that it's really big; I have one of those huge half-litre mugs, so it works fine, but I'm not sure how it matches up to a regular coffee mug or a smaller teapot.
I have, in my very serious postrgraduate bedroom...
Date: 2010-04-18 06:16 am (UTC)At LEAST six stuffed toys (Brown Bear, nearly as old as I am; Imhrahil aka Squishy, a snow leopard; Wulfstan puppy, my honours thesis comfort toy; Yvain the Thesis Lion; MonkeyBear; Unexpectedly Gay Beanie*; Purple Angel Bear; and possibly some others that I've forgotten about) and a porcelain doll (recently retrieved from my parents' house). Oh, wait, and I forgot Augustine Teddy, Origen Teddy (who is tiny), AElfric the Tiger, and Isidore of Seville (a graduation bear). So, um, that's eleven stuffed toys and a doll.
STUFFED TOYS MAKE EVERYTHING BETTER.

* Officially named, by the beanie bear company, "Pinkie the Triangle Bear". It's purple, with a giant pink triangle on its chest. I bought it when I was about fourteen, and only recently realised that the pink triangle is a gay symbol. YAY UNEXPECTEDLY GAY BEANIE.

Date: 2010-04-18 04:02 pm (UTC)...I have more at home, of course. (My friend Chicago has a lifesize stuffed penguin her gentleman friend gave her for her birthday. He said he didn't think it was that large! Also mail operations lost it, how do you lose a box with a giant stuffed penguin in it?)
