Man, it's so weird writing Eustace being very, very competent. (No, seriously, very competent. Most of the banter from this chapter has been dropped in favor of action and competence. Also plot reasons, but mostly action and competence.)

Yay! He's not that incompetent after all! You'd think after five years of running and hiding and fighting in Narnia, he'd have gain some useful skills. Or maybe it's just his cousins finally noticing that he's not that useless after all?

It's definitely all Eustace, since it's from his POV. I have decided that he is very good at some things and vvery bad at others, and most of what we've seen in Dust part one has been him out of his element. But now he is COMPETENT.
