*throws minor hissy fit* Am trying to formulate proper sounding prayers. Am failing miserably. Am staring at this website and this website and vaguely hoping a lightning bolt doesn't come through my window. I am trying for the Narnian (Aslan) equivalent of the Lord's Prayer, and failing kind of miserably.

ETA: Have possibly succeeded? It seems a little long, but, well. *twitches*

If you want a second opinion, I volunteer my combination of religious upbringing and medievalism for the creation of Narnian prayers!

Okay! (Gah, medievalism. One reason I am dreadfully afraid that I will make a terrible medievalist is because I don't understand Christianity. On the other hand, I am kind of bemused to find recipes that say thing like, "Stir for the amount of time it takes to say two Lord's Prayers." /random)

This is the current version:

O Aslan, who dwelleth beyond the Great Sea, hallowed be Thy name. Light our paths in night and shadow; we shall fear no evil for we know You are with us always. In Your infinite mercy forgive us our trespasses against You, for we have dreadfully offended You and we are most heartily sorry. Grant us hope of spring in the deep of winter and promise of autumn in the heart of summer, for You are Life and Death and the Great Renewal. Amen.

(Setting: Dust-era, a more rigid sect of Narnian religion that looks at Aslan as the one god, not one of the ones that's more pantheistic. Orthodox Aslanism?)

The previous version was this one, but it didn't seem standard enough; too battle-focused for civilian use.

Have pity on I, who am but a poor mortal, and welcome me in Your country beyond the Great Eastern Ocean if my time has come.
