In the short interval before Dust 20 goes up and I go on my usual 24-hour posting moratorium --

This ST:TOS vid is so much fun, omg. I do not know why Star Trek is so suited for peppy pop songs, but it is. (Okay, granted, my knowledge of TOS is just about limited to being able to recognize Kirk, Spock, and Uhura, and make educated guesses on McCoy, Chekhov, Sulu, and The Other One. Uh, Scotty.)

SPEAKING OF SCOTTY, did y'all hear the news about Bill Nighy being replaced by Simon Pegg for the voice of Reepicheep? What about that, huh? (Not to mention that Bill Nighy replaced Eddie Izzard in the first place, so who knows wtf is going on over there.)

*ponders* Yeah, I don't have anything else useful to contribute at the moment, so I'm going to go back to adding HTML tags to Dust 20.

I think what amuses me most about Star Trek is that the first Star Trek fic I got into was nu!Trek...before I saw the movie, and never having seen TOS. Or possibly that there's now canon nonconservative timetravel (<3).

Oh, same here. I am actually surprised, looking at TOS (which I still haven't actually SEEN any of), how much some of the STXI actors look like their predecessors (...I think, anyway)! Good casting, guys!

The visual part of my brain doesn't work well enough to tell that kind of thing, so I'll take your word for it (no, really, I couldn't describe my own mother if I wasn't looking at her). But yeah, it's always a shock when they find an actor who looks the same and can act well enough for it to be good.

I am exactly the same way; I can sort of tell just by general face shape.

You won't find this strange, but most of the Original Actors got to approve their new younger selves.

Well, except for Scotty and McCoy, but everyone else kinda check on them.
