Banter has been replaced by vomit. Well, it wasn't that good of banter anyway, although I already miss the line about Peter discovering his first gray hair. And the shaving scene. But it didn't accomplish anything! It wasn't going to accomplish anything! It was gearing up to be a talkyface chapter, and I hate talkyface chapters. Which is not to say there will be hitting in this chapter, but, well. At least something other than conversation.

Slang for vomit in 1949 England? Speaker being Eustace.

OK, this is really bumming me out. I would very much like to read of shaving and Peter discovering his first gray hair. This sounds hilarious!

Can't help with the slang but I'm intrigued now about the bits you're cutting out of the chapter! Peter and gray hair! (Though he's technically reaching 40 in a younger body... a gray hair shouldn't be that surprising!)

Edmund shouldn't be laughing either then, should he? If the High King's nearing 40, the younger King is in his mid-to-late 30s and a I suspect a gray hair or two on his head wouldn't be too surprising. :-)

Nth-ing the interest in the cut bits! First gray hair would definitely be traumatic with three younger siblings to rag on you.

"Sick." As in, "Watch out for the sick on the carpet over there."

Tell me there is discussion of hats. ;)

I agree with the 'sick' choice - it's still used here in the Deep South by those well-bred ladies who were sent to England after the war and by those dashing young men who came home with a lovely English bride.
