bedlamsbardoh my god, this is why my period of history is WAY BEFORE the Industrial Revolution. I just had a moment of panic of OH MY GOD WERE THERE TRAINS IN 1901 THERE MUST HAVE BEEN OH MY GOD I DON'T KNOW THERE MUST HAVE BEEN BECAUSE DICKENS WAS IN A RAIL ACCIDENT BUT I CANNOT REMEMBER WHEN OH MY GOD.
As Wikipedia tells me kindly, there were in fact trains in 1901. In London, even! Which I totally knew, duh. *curls up in historian's shame*
Also, I just had my first documented case of accidentally switching one character's name for another in this story so far. Uh, whoops? Fortunately I will have a beta to hit me over the head if I do it again and don't notice. Ah, it reminds me of the good old days when I used to switch pronouns all the time when writing porn. First I was writing het, then slash, then femslash, then genderfuck het, then genderfuck femslash! (What made it even more hilarious was that I was already writing girl!Peter/Caspian, so I would end up with slash when I wanted het. Ah, the good old days.)
