Upon the third reappearance of The Virus, I have hied myself to the Internet, which I should have done a week ago (hi, I'm not that practical), and looked up the removal solution, which means that I am now on my father's desktop with my fingers crossed while my laptop runs Malwarebytes. So far -- no infected objects, out of 70000 objects scanned. FIND SOMETHING FOR MY TROUBLE AND REMOVE IT YOU BASTARD.

This is what I have, apparently. Or what I'm trying to do to remove it, at least.

ETA: Virus appears to be gone. AVG Resident Shield is still driving me insane, though, and now there's some note about blocked startup programs, I don't even know.

Malwarebytes was a godsend for me; I hope it works for you! (I had a different anti-spyware problem and a Trojan to boot.) AVG wasn't able to fully pick up the bugs on my computer, but Malwarebytes managed to find things that I didn't even know were there.

It looks like it worked! Right now AVG is mostly just being annoying, grr.

I say uninstall AVG and reinstall a fresh new copy after you finish Malwarebytes.

Done. *weary* I tried to install the Kaspersky trial, but...that didn't work. (OH MY LIFE.) So, back to AVG Free for the time being, I might take my computer to Tech Services once I get back to Tulane so they can install McAfee on it. (McAfee's free through my school, but I apparently really suck at computer stuff, and was completely unable to download it.)
