So is it a good sign, a bad sign, or an absolutely terrifying sign when a professor e-mails the class and says, "Hey, everyone who's never taken one of my classes before has dropped the seminar"? Because I'm torn between hilarity and OH MY GOD HELP.

Granted, there were only three people who'd never taken him before. And now there are none.

I think it's a great sign. Then again, I'm an academic masochist.

The class is already, like, ten people bigger than it should be, because the prof let in a bunch of people on the waitlist and there are two audits. *sulks* If I weep, it will probably be because of this class.

Perhaps more people will drop. Perhaps I will drop, although I am hanging on for at least a week to see if I can handle my reading load for the semester. (It's my Peloponnesian and Punic Wars seminar.)

I hope so too. *sad face* We don't even all fit around the table in the classroom, which isn't even the classroom we were originally supposed to be in. Apparently the last time the prof had a seminar this big, he split it in half, but he can't do that this semester.

I wish *I* was in this class. I love the Peloponnesian War.

I am a big fan of the Punic War, while I don't care as much for the Peloponnesian War. But I do like military history!

That's a brilliant sign! It means that everyone who knows him *will not drop the class*. Now, if all the dropees *had* taken him before, that would be... actually, a different sort of good sign.

Yes, but there are still over twenty people in what was supposed to be a fifteen person class! I am extremely annoyed by this.
