I have made Two Real Meals today! I am so impressed with myself, y'all. Pork chops with apples and onions for lunch (I oversalted, which I have a tendancy to do, and I don't think I quite get the concept of "deglazing", but OM NOM NOM) and pasta with tomato cream sauce for dinner! I don't usually like tomato sauces, but it was pretty good. I also did two sinks full of dishes. (I am the greatest roommate, y'all: not only will I do my own dishes, but I will also do your dishes! I usually like doing dishes, though, so it's usually not too much of a bother for me. Also seeing dishes in the sink makes me twitch.)

I want to bake these cinnamon roll muffins, but I should really be doing reading for class -- oh my god, I am so behind, I hate my life -- but then I would have muffins... I spent most of yesterday hanging out with [personal profile] isweedan, so I didn't get anything read; I'd done thirty pages in the morning, and in the evening I checked my syllabus to see what other reading I had, only to realize that my professor had photocopied THE WRONG PAGES OF THE CAMBRIDGE HISTORY OF IRAN VOLUME 2. So my reading didn't even count! It was barely even relevant! Which means I had to do that reading today -- it's on the internet through the library, I didn't want to check out the actual book because it's huge and I only have to read, like, twelve pages -- and I hit information overload last week and can't get myself to do any of my reading. Which is kind of bad, because I have a paper due this week. From here on out, I have at least one paper due every week except for three weeks, two of which have midterms. My favorite week is the one where I have three papers due in three days. (Though none on the same day, thank Athena, I have no idea how I got that lucky.)

So, I lost weight last year, and went down from a size 5 to a size 1 (not in an alarming way, most of the women on my mother's side of the family were the same at my age), and now none of my clothes fit. I brought three skirts with me to NOLA, and the one I wore on Friday is one I probably shouldn't have been wearing, as it was -- not quite falling off, but sitting way lower than it should have. (I also have no hips. Fail. Until you hit my breasts, I'm pretty straight up and down.) One of my remaining skirts is a denim pencil skirt, which sits fine, I love pencil skirts, and the other one also sits pretty low, but unless I've lost weight since the last time I wore it, it still fits. Barely. I have one pair of size 1 jeans and two of size 5s, and one of the size 5s is really, really obvious (at least to me) that it's too big. So. *sighs* I need new jeans, although I should be good until I get home. At which point I'm going to have to retire the two size 5s anyway, they're on the end of their lifespan. Also, two of my shirts spontaneously developed holes, one pair of shoes is still soaked post Thursday's thunderstorm and ensuing Newcomb Place and Willow rivers, and two pairs of socks have holes in them, I don't know why. Also my shirt yesterday kept sliding down because I didn't realize the straps adjusted forward, so I think I showed off my pink Victoria's Secret bra to half of campus. In conclusion, my clothes hate me.

Also, I kind of want a fancy vintage-style apron. Not that I wear aprons, but I could...

food stuff: i am making soup this week. one will be a cream of potato and the other will be a cream of spinach (only with obvious vegetable bits in them because i have no blender). this will be more soup than i alone can consume. would you like some of that? we could arrange some sort of fangirl meetup if you do.

on the clothes front if you have time you may want to check out buffalo clothing exchange on magazine (near the corner of louisiana). you might find a whole bunch of clothes, you might find nothing.

its looking like i wont get to make soup until the end of the week anyway. my sister isn't feeling well and i'm at my parents' house keeping an eye on her during the day.

i enjoy meeting people i know online. i do tend to be slightly awkward in public though. just a warning.

I like to swoon over some of Anthropologie's vintage-style aprons. Some of them look like dresses! I was given an apron as a gift once from there, and I've never worn it. The times I bother with cooking, I never think about throwing on an apron.
