Where is the amazing HBO series about Alfred the Great and the Viking invasion, y'all? It could be awesome. They could base it off Bernard Cornwell's Saxon Chronicles! Or do it Rome style, and have, like, a warrior from Wessex team up with a monk or something, and then have PERSONAL DRAMA. There can be dramatic landscapes of the coast of England and Viking longships, and tense moments of paganism vs. Christianity, and THEN THEY CAN DO THE SCENE WHERE ALFRED BURNS THE CAKES. They could burn a monastery! Or ten! THERE COULD BE AETHELFLAED.

*pets* Someone go make this happen. RIGHT NOW. (Er, you know, not that I'm advocating burning monasteries or anything, just MAKING TELEVISION.)

I feel like there's been an upsurge in interest in historical-ish dramas. Maybe someone will get rid of the Arthurian myth and try to do actual history? *crosses fingers*

Of course, to match up with the timeline, it would have to be itty-bitty Aethelflaed, unless they do a lot of time jumps...

Well, they did do Rome, fairly recently, and there's lots of Arthurian stuff in the works, so maybe? *crosses fingers* Wouldn't it be FABULOUS?

There is definitely a lack of VIKINGS on TV. This needs to be remedied. As soon as possible.

Warrior from Wessex and Monk drama? *wanttsss* Mostly for the monk's omg face at the monastery burning. One of which may or may not be his fault because he left a candle on all night next to his very valuable books! Viking Warrior laughs about this. A lot. And tells tales about it at taverns as much as possible, much to the monk's embarrassment.
