The ethernet outlet in my bedroom abruptly stopped working. *sighs* And by "abruptly" I mean "one minute I had internet and the next I did not." I assumed it was just Tulane losing internet again -- it's happened once already this year -- but by the time I got back from the store I still didn't have internet, and my roommate does. We experimented with her ethernet cord and my ethernet cord, and it's not the cord -- I have internet when the cord is hooked into her outlet (in her bedroom), but not when I have it hooked into my bedroom. Fortunately she has a very very long ethernet cord.
Submitted a request with Tech Services, but I don't know if they're open on weekends -- and it's Homecoming weekend too, so that throws everything off. I don't know if I should ServiceWave it too; even if I did, only Emergency ServiceWave runs on weekends, and I'm not entirely certain if my inability to get internet counts as an emergency. (I never got around to setting up the wireless on my laptop to hook into Tulane's wireless. Clearly a dumb decision.) (Yes, Facilities Services is called ServiceWave at Tulane.)
On the bright side, I have finished my NFE pinch-hit, but my computer bugged out just as I finished writing my beta request and before I posted it. Also my classics advisor sent me info on this new program at Notre Dame, which looks really interesting and possibly attainable! (At this point, I have low expectations.)
Also,
sporky_rat, I finally watched The Wicker Man! So you may, uh, be able to get that back at some point in the near future. Christopher Lee is so young!

Date: 2010-10-11 08:58 pm (UTC)It was certainly very interesting! Definitely more respectful than the new one, and the cop is much more sympathetic than Nic Cage. (Though, you know, that's not hard.) Extremely interesting, and fascinating.
