bedlamsbardI was woken up by the sound of loud music at three in the morning, and could not figure out where the fuck it was coming from, since it sounded like it was coming from inside the apartment, but Texas and Maryland had gone home for Thanksgiving and Minnesota had gone to work at two in the morning. (She works at the desk in one of the other dorms.) I was kind of hoping it was coming from outside, but when it didn't go away, I got up and wandered over to the other side of the apartment -- maybe Minnesota had left her TV or her computer on -- but it turned out to be coming from inside Maryland's room, and it turns out that it was her fucking alarm clock. AT THREE IN THE GODDAMN MORNING.
If it goes off again tomorrow morning, I'm fucking unplugging it, I swear to God.
Try not to be stressed out, my mother says. Try and be calm, my mother says. GEE I WONDER WHY I MIGHT BE STRESSED OUT TO THE EXTENT THAT I AM APPARENTLY FORGETTING TO BREATHE. (No, literally, that's what it feels like. It feels like I am forgetting to exhale unless I'm consciously thinking about it. THAT'S what's fucking stressful.) I am pretty sure this is a bad sign.
*breathes, deliberately* I am going to do my laundry and make pumpkin pie. Later I shall roast a turkey breast that we have named Henry and stuff and roast a delicata squash we have named Hotspur, because we are geeks and we EAT our Shakespearean characters.
