"Lu," Edmund says, his voice as calm as he can make it but still a pitch higher than normal, "are you seeing what I'm seeing?"

She takes a breath. "Is that --"

"It's a dinosaur," he says, stares, then says it again. "It's a bloody dinosaur."

FLAIL!!!
I just wrote a whole chapter where Eustace is looking for Spare Oom evidence of sea monsters and dragons in the Mesozoic fossil record at a natural history museum. Because really, why not dinosaurs in Narnia? There are dragons -- which are really giant pterosaurs the size of giraffes -- and sea monsters -- which are really just giant mosasaurs. Nom Nom Nom

Ooh! And you leave the rest to our imaginations!

As [personal profile] rthstewart said, "why not dinosaurs"? Really, it shouldn't be that surprising considering what kinds of creatures the Narnians are.

... though, why do I feel that if Peter saw it first, Rhindon would be out first, before they tried to see if the dinosaur is a Talking one?

And besides, as Eustace reasons, there's no reason to assume that magical portals are human-specific. Aslan says there were gaps between the worlds, so if a whole group of Polynesian pirates can stumble in and become part of Telmar, why not a couple of Triceratops? or a flock of dromeosaurs?

Well, it's a great image, nonetheless, even if the story will never be written.
