You know, I just want to pause and put this out there, but in what universe is university remotely like real life?

Bah, business majors. Also the kind of people who do things in advance, bah.

Heh. I do things in advance because if I don't I procrastinate so much that they never get done. And it only took me two decades to figure that out!

Also, it's exactly like real life...if you become a professional student, that is.

I did some parts of homework in advance this semester...I should have gotten into the habit of doing more of it.

One of my roommates (well, two of them, actually) is the sort of person who does things a month in advance. She takes a dim view of people who do not do so. (I like her a lot, but I do have to admit that my opinion of her dropped slightly when she said that she would make her kid major in something useful like accounting if she was paying for them to go to university.)

A month in advance? O_O I mean, okay, for some classes I can see doing that, like if you're given a couple of papers to write at the beginning of the semester and you just want to get them over with, but yeah. That would so not work well with my 3 language classes.

Aaand, this reminds me that I have to write a paper for tomorrow morning, which I didn't even have a weekend to work on and thus have procrastinated until now (and then, study for a quiz! and do homework! but I can do those tomorrow since I have time in my schedule). There is a reason I don't sleep as much as I want to.

There is a reason I don't do papers that far in advance. I mean, it may not be the best reason ever, but it exists -- I want to make sure that anything we've covered in class can still go into the paper, you know? Or won't go into the paper, even, depending.

Heh! I am also writing a paper that is due tomorrow morning. I think I am coming up on the end! ...although I have to go back and change the intro paragraph because, as usual, my thesis changed in the writing of it.

Well, some papers, yeah...but others are like "oookay, this is barely even related to the course; it's clearly not going to be covered in class."

I only started my paper after midnight. Which I probably shouldn't have, since it's a quiz grade, but...meh. It should be fun to wake up in 5 hours and still have to print it out. At least I learned something while writing it: bear, used as a verb, can mean "go bear hunting".

Well, and for a lot of my papers, at least this semester, they'll be related to the discussioins we'll have, and I always worry that if I do the reading too early then I'll have forgotten the particulars by the time we actually have the class. (Look, I didn't say I was logical.)

...my library has made distinct hours when one can print? That is STUPID, library. This is finals country! WE HAVE TO BE ABLE TO PRINT AT ALL HOURS OF THE DAY AND NIGHT WITHOUT INTERACTING WITH ANOTHER HUMAN BEING.

If the papers are based on discussions, it makes sense. And honestly, most of the time I don't see the point in reading too far in advance, unless you're planning to reread anyway; it's easy to forget the details that are the kinds of things that are asked about on the tests.

I got 4 or 5 hours of sleep last night, and when I got up I still had to print my paper, because one of the printers is inaccessible from my computer and the other one is in my parents room. So I overslept by an hour (it's bizarre, but whenever I wake up for my alarm and go back to sleep I always wake up an hour later), and would have been late to class if I didn't leave a ridiculous amount of time between my alarm and when I absolutely must leave the house. So I couldn't connect to the one printer, and the other is new and I didn't have the drivers installed this morning. Ok, I thought, do my usual standbys: Dropbox or thumb drive. But the router was out, again, and my dad''s computer refused to acknowledge that my thumb drive existed. But fortunately it eventually worked out well.

Agh, sympathies. Apparently the printers at the library went down, and then they managed to do something to them, but they only printed from PCs, I don't know, hopefully they fix it. *flaps hands* Bad time for the printers to go down, library!
