Things I have never really had to think about before: Archenlander history and politics. Things that I am currently having to think about: Archenlander history and politics. And naming conventions. (Fortunately Lewis made it easy here, for once in his life. And we do actually have a decent sprinkling of Archenlander history, pre-HHB, for a change -- certainly more than we do Narnian. Occasionally I have these moments of, "OMG I HAVE NEVER WORKED WITH THIS MUCH CANON BEFORE." Then they pass.)

Well, given the amount of time that's passed between LB and HHB, you don't have to stick with the whole Dar/Darrin and Cor/Corin structure. If Narnia's changed so much over the years, I don't see why it wouldn't happen to Archenland as well. And surely some Narnian customs would have bled through by the borders.

I think only Calormene would be as close to what it was like during the Pevensies' time.

Oh my god, I am sticking to my canon when I get it, since for once in my Narnia writing career I actually have just enough to work with and not in such a way that it severely limits me. (Naming conventions, name of castle, location, king, fucking legends -- *does a little dance*) *clings* There are definite changes since the Golden Age, but since we don't actually know all that much of what it was actually like at the time. But just enough for me to work with me.
