The book(s) I am reading: A Dying Light in Corduba, by Lindsey Davis, for fun, and Gazing on Secret Sights: Spenser, Classical Imitation, and the Decorums of Vision, by Theresa Krier, for my honors thesis, and various things for school, though no complete books at the moment.
The book I am writing: The Novel, with
aella_irene, and I suppose Dust sort of counts?
The book I love most: Homer's Odyssey, of course.
The last book I received as a gift: Oh, man, I don't remember. Usually I don't get books, I get gift cards to bookstores.
The last book I gave as a gift: ...I think I brought back some books for my dad from New Orleans, some leftover books from class that I hadn't sold back. I think? Not sure that counts. Not sure what the books were, either.
The nearest book on my desk: I have no books on my desk right now, but the nearest book to my head is A Dying Light in Corduba, and the book on my bed is The Artist, the Philosopher, and the Warrior: The Intersecting Lives of da Vinci, Machiavelli, and Borgia and the World They Shaped, by Paul Strathern, which I've been carrying around for a couple of days but haven't started yet.
...I feel like there should be more questions on this meme, like "The last book you bought" (Sock Innovation and The House of Medici: Its Rise and Fall) and "The last book you read" (The Holy Greyhound and Time to Depart) and "The book you're going to read next" (The Artist, the Philosopher, and the Warrior and Prophets in Their Own Country (for my tutorial), and when I finish going through Krier I'll probably move on to Pugh's Spenser and Ovid. Oh, and Coriolanus, for Shakespeare, and The Holy Household, for Age of Reformation. Look, I have to read a lot of books for class, okay.)
