I have finished the first draft of my honors thesis prospectus! The Spenser one, that is. And now...I kind of think that I could in fact write fifty pages on this topic. Um. oh my god I don't know what to do with my life help.

Anyway. I shall turn this in tomorrow, and then start doing research for my other honors thesis prospectus, the one on the Borgia ambitions. Which I need to narrow down, because hey, Borgia ambitions! THEY ARE THIIIIIIIIS BIG. And cunning. Murderous. Violent. Possibly incestuous. AND THEY HAVE MONKEYS. Also, they cheat at horse races, as one does. (And at papal elections, as one also does.) Later in the semester I shall do one more prospectus for my tutorial; right now I am thinking virgins. (And by virgins I mean nuns, but I have the slight feeling that the book I picked up from the library on a whim because it had a cool title may be early modern rather than medieval, and thus perhaps not as interesting as I thought. If not, I might see what other people besides Trexler have to say about images in daily life in Italy.)

I highly prefer this writing prospectuses thing to writing end-of-term papers. All the research, all the fun, none of the writing! Except for the writing of prospectuses, of course.

In other news, my mother is coming to New Orleans tomorrow! (Technically tonight, but she gets in too late for it to matter.) So I shall probably be absent for most of the weekend. (Not that I really produce much at this point anyway, but, you know, the principle of the thing. Also, my MOTHER is coming! I haven't had a parent or anyone else come visit since move-in three years ago. We shall eat our way through New Orleans. Also, I expect there shall be tours and other tourist-y things, as I've never been to Oak Alley Plantation and I'm always up for a Haunted History tour.)

Less cheerfully: I've been having wonky wrist problems again, which is freaking me out a little. No swelling, but that not quite numbness sometimes, not sure how to describe it. Not a soreness, not quite numbness, sort of a tingly feeling, but even that's not quite right, as that seems to be more pins-and-needles than what this usually is. Which worries me. It's like a numbness without anything actually being numb. /worst descriptor ever
