Oh man oh man oh man, it is a 1.5K day like it used to be in the days of yore! (Okay, in the days of yore I also once had a 10K day, but that was during NaNo and doesn't really count.)

*does a little dance*

Also, there is an angsty teenage marsh-wiggle girl. Although she's in sort of a skeevy situation.

(I realized in the shower that I was doing...something with children in this story. Not sure what. I'm sure whatever it is, Lewis did it first. So far we have Beka Confesor, Gareth of Archenland, and marsh-wiggle girl. We meet Gareth's younger sibs later, too.)

I posted a very short snippet on Twitter the other day, so I'll put it here too:

“Just like a damned noble.”

“Royal, actually,” Edmund points out kindly. “King Edmund. Some people call me just.”

“I call you an ass!”

“Some people call me that,” Edmund says, and looks around.

YAY FIC!

I've had a 2.5K day. I'm very pleased with myself. (And after stripping out all the notes, Reformat has hit 10K. I strongly suspect it's going to end up novel-sized... geez.)

1.5K is better than nothing. I know a lot of people (myself included) are having trouble trying to write anything these days.

The snippet is hysterical. I'm looking forward to seeing it in its actual context.

Yeah, it's definitely better than a lot of the days I've been having recently. Not much compared to some days I had in the past, but -- at this point, I'll take what I can get.
