My thoughts on Borgias 1.04 can be summed up as KILL CESARE KILL KILL. I am totally willing for them to change the history and make this the husband Cesare has murdered instead of Alfonso d'Aragona of Bisceglie. (Which I think they're going to make Alfonso of Naples, instead. Bisceglie was Naples' bastard son.)

For whatever reason Vannozza had me crying on and off throughout the entire episode. I am really sensitive to mother-daughter stuff, and I was in tears.

La la la, della Rovere continues on his grand tour of Italy, whatever. Savonarola's prediction is actually correct for what happens to Alexander VI, if about ten years off. The assassination attempts kind of lose their tension (from the last episode) when you know that Giuliano della Rovere went on to become Pope Julius II and completely ruin Cesare's life.

I do not remember this Ursula chick. There are so many possibilities for who the parents of the Infans Romanus will be, I have no idea who to bet on at this point. It could be anyone! (Although Giovanni Borgia probably won't be Lucrezia's son by Cesare or Rodrigo. But if Cesare has his affair with Ursula and Lucrezia has her affair with Perotto (also, as it happens, killed by Cesare. Well, probably. Look, he killed a lot of people, okay?), then the Infans Romanus could be Lucrezia's kid by Perotto, Cesare's kid by Ursula, or Rodrigo's kid by Giulia. All possible options!

There were some really nice father-children moments in here.

In conclusion: KILL CESARE KILL KILL.

Also, while I'm here, can I throw out my predictions for where they're going to end the season? My prediction is that they're going to have Juan's murder in the season finale, and I am going to tentatively go out on a limb and add, from what Francois Arnaud's said in interviews, that it's going to be on Cesare's orders, rather than someone outside the family. If that's so, the other big event would be Lucrezia's divorce.

What came up in another interview would be that they'd have the bit where Alexander leaves Lucrezia in charge of the Vatican in the second season, which places Lucrezia's second marriage and Cesare's murder of her husband either at the end of season one or the beginning of season two. Lucrezia's divorce proceedings were in motion at the time of Juan's murder. Look, can I just say that it's not hard to have a major historical event in play for a dramatic season finale with this family?

In conclusion: KILL CESARE KILL KILL.
