Classes are over, two of my roommates have gone to Florida for the Easter break, I did all the dishes left over from their popcorn extravaganza last night, and I'm still wondering why the counter's sticky. Eh. I should go check if Mail Ops has flat-rate boxes. Also, I think Bruff's closed for the Easter weekend.

On the other hand, I did start watching Boardwalk Empire, and as of the first episode, I do like it. (This is going to come as a surprise to exactly no one, but I like gangsters.)

Two more weeks and I get to go home.

ETA: Roommate ruins my breakfast plans by starting to deep-clean the kitchen WHILE I'M IN IT. And refuses to wait twenty minutes for me to finish baking, because she has "other things to do." Gee, honey, so do I.

I'm glad you found the first episode of Boardwalk to your liking! I had been rather iffy about the series and it was hard to sit down to even watch the pilot but after that, I was hooked.

Granted, I was only watching for the pretty backdrops, costumes and music at first but the story does suck you in after a while. If you make it to the second half of the series, you'll meet one of my favorite characters in the show who is totally scary and awesome.

(And I kept thinking of the Gangsters of Cair Paravel as I was watching this, too.)

I am now three episodes in! I'm not deeply entranced with the characters the way I am with some of my other shows, but they're not putting me off the way The Tudors did, either. And, as I said, I do like gangsters.

I am just really bewildered why she decided to start with the kitchen. Which had someone in it. I mean, she next moved onto the microwave (which is not in the kitchen proper), so I don't know why she didn't start with the microwave. Our kitchen is not that large, and I said, "Um, do you mind waiting about twenty minutes for me to be done?" and she said, "Well, I have things to do, and anyway, you're in the half of the kitchen I'm not using." (Our kitchen is not that large.) Then she pulled the coils off the burners on the stovetop, which I was about five minutes out from using. So there went that plan. (I was making biscuits, which I was still putting together when she started, and I was going to open a can of corned beef hash while those were baking. Naturally that second part didn't happen.)

I mean, I appreciate a clean common space as much as the next girl -- more, probably, considering my other two roommates -- but I don't understand the logic of trying to clean it WHILE SOMEONE IS USING IT. I guess she came in with a plan and was going to execute it RIGHT THEN NO EXCUSES.
