from the depths of my journal and my notes

Last night I spent an amazing amount of time reading back over a fair bit of the
houseofpevensie fic, time when I should probably have been doing things like studying or sleeping. On the flip side, aw, Junior Pevensies! And then I went, wait, I distinctly remember writing a follow-up to this, where is it? On my hard drive, as it turns out. Also a UFO. Or a WIP. One of the two, anyway. (
aella_irene and I have one other JP fic that I know of that's been a WIP since we started writing our original, but the Lucinde follow-up is just mine.) Although now I'm going back through the JP stuff and trying to remember who the various strays are and when they showed up during the Golden Age -- I haven't written, or even had the urge to write, Golden Age Narnia for a really long time.
Huh. I wonder if that's in my Warsverse notes. (Which I haven't looked at in a really long time as I haven't written anything Golden Age in quite a while and my Dust notes are in a separate tab, and I haven't had to keep notes for Caspianic Narnia yet.) Well, some of them are -- hey! I found a definitive date for Over the Hills and Far Away, since the dates for Fiorenza's children are in my dates. Huh, 11 is earlier than I thought it would be. Also a (probably somewhat limited) list of Peter's lovers, half of whom I have no memory of creating. (My Narnia notes vary between extremely detailed and very scanty. See again: me going, "Who are these people?" When did I give Caspian IX and Miraz a younger sister?)
Aww, I found my Narnian sea shanties. Including the mostly unfinished bawdy versions! I can't remember if those ever went up. Although I only have one verse of the song where a Narnian sailor lists every different species he's had sex with by their distance to the mainland. Alas. (Wait! I have journal search on DW, and I did post some of the shanties but didn't put them on the timeline. Off to do that RIGHT NOW.) Anyway. Should I post the ones that aren't up already?
...oh, excellent, I just found a reference to a book which would have been around in Rilian's time, this will be relevant to the fourth Rilian fic.
There should be at least one more Narnian ballad scattered around somewhere -- from the 2009
narniaexchange, I think. *roots around* Ah, yes. Two different versions of the same song in Not Calling to Eternity. Which are in my notes as two of four versions of a ballad called "Salt and Sorrow," but which I never wrote the entirety of, just bits of verses here and there. Oh, huh, I never posted Not Calling to Eternity off-NFE, I should do that so I have it backed up on my journal.
Did the Paradise Boat Song ever go up? I know I wrote it to accompany The Coastwise Lights but I don't think it actually made it into the fic. *looks* Nah, it didn't, and a journal search shows I apparently never put it up, either. And I wrote the whole thing, too!
And now I have put on my sea songs playlist and am grinning. Hey, at least I'm having fun!
Oooh, just found a ficbit that I'm 99% sure never got posted -- Susan and a foreign prospective bride, talking mythology. Oh, here's something with Golden Age High Reaches world-building. I really wish I'd distinguished the stuff I'd posted from the stuff I didn't.
Both yesterday and today I've run into that bit of world-building about the first witch, the one that predated the White Witch and stole the trees from the High Reaches. Shit, what fic was that in yesterday? I know I saw it. It must have been in one of the JP fics, since that was what I was reading.
Ah, bits of Peter's Red Company experience. Oh, and here's some angsty mcangsty angst.
Back in the JP notes section -- YET MORE BALLADS.
Oh, hey, missing scene from Coastwise. And some really early missing scenes from Dust, so early they're still in the Dead Fic Bits tab and not in the Dust tab. OH THAT'S WHERE CASPIAN IX'S AND MIRAZ'S LITTLE SISTER CAME FROM. Excerpt from Caspian X's journal in a Tirian POV. More angst. (This one actually got posted -- number three on this page.) Aww, werewolf!Pevensies and Edwina Pevensie. And immortal!Susan (with resurrected!Peter and, uh, Batman. And Peter/Sarah Connor). Ah, there's the girl!Caspian ficbits. OMG the pirate AU, I know I posted that, here it is.
Oh, man, I really wish I'd written that Chrestomanci/Narnia crossover. But I didn't write ANY of it.
Right, where's the other werewolf!Pevensies AU? I know there were two of them, one in Narnia, one contemporary.
...I had completely forgotten about the epic Narnia/Stardust crossover Lass (
twoskeletons/
whynot) and I wrote back in the day. Also the Narnia/Ocean's Eleven AU, which I'm not going to bother looking up the link for right now.
be_themoon and I also had a fairly epic Narnia/Merlin crossover at some point, too.
HOLY SHIT. I was really on the good crack a couple years ago, wasn't I?
ETA: I cannot believe that the list of people I have hooked Peter and/or Susan up with includes Arthur Pendragon, Bruce Wayne, Sarah Connor, James Bond, and Willy Wonka. (I think possibly Morgana too, but I can't remember off the top of my head.) THE GOOD DRUGS. I WAS ON THEM.

Date: 2011-05-03 02:53 pm (UTC)Man, I really loved that Stardust one. *sighs* I wanted to go back and turn it into a proper fic, but we started writing it at roughly the same time I was writing Dust and Be Like Water, and there were only so many AU revisionist fics I could write at once. When Dust was over, I said, back in the days when I thought Dust would be short.
