bedlamsbard: natasha romanoff from the black widow prelude comic (the wardrobe (padabee))

I have been a little at loose ends since finishing Harvest. I poked at the Jaisen Ettore backstory (he's another of Peter's strays, if the name is unfamiliar, though he appears to actually have been picked up by Susan), I prodded at previous drafts of Dust 24 to see if I could shake Dust 25 loose (the problem is that I want one more chapter in the middle before I move heavily into the Archenland action subplot, and while I know what's happening next in the Gangs of Cair Paravel subplot, the story will be unbalanced if I go there right now, and as of yet we still lack an Arn Abedin subplot), and then I spent a truly alarming amount of time staring at fashion blogs. (Clothes. I finally got into them.)

Also, I watched Pillars of the Earth. Poor David Oakes, he can never play a nice morally upright medieval warlord. (My opinion of the series is largely positive, only sometimes all the characters are struck with an attack of the stupids, the villains are really one-note, and the time jumps make me crazy because they don't bother aging up the actors. Also, too much rape.)

I am also knitting a sock. Wait, that's not news.

Too much rape

Exactly why I couldn't watch the series or read most of the book.

There's always a sort of drifty feeling when you finish something, I find. Especially something as large and apparently consuming as Harvest seems to have been for you. I find returning to the source material sometimes helps, but otherwise there's little to do but wait it out. The sock may be the best medicine; different kind of creativity.

Yeah, I have two of those published and another two on the Scriv. board myself. *returns sheepish grin*
