Feb. 22nd, 2006 06:17 pmDude, do any of you other writer-types ever get that feeling that the world isn't...real, I guess? You know what I mean? You spend so much time in your own head that the rest of the world feels like it's -- I don't know, under your thumb, and then it's not. I mean, you know, theoretically, that you have next to nothing to do with anything, but you're used to being able to control things, more or less that it's just -- oh, there's a happy ending. Or something. You spend so much more time in your own head, with your characters and your worlds, that they're just more real to you than other people.
You know? Or am I just having a Moment? 'Cause I could totally just be having a Moment.
And no, nothing happened, I'm just having a Moment.

It doesn't feel real in the sense that it doesn't feel sensory ... exactly. It doesn't feel kinesthetic and I don't want to say dream, exactly. But. Eh.

Or that stereotypical writer thing: you've broken up with your boyfriend, but you're glad because you always wanted to analyze this so you know how it feels, or looking at people you've characterized and going, "Oh, so that's how he'd react in this situation." *shakes head* I am a nutcase.

Date: 2006-02-23 11:57 pm (UTC)Not that I did that at Tolo or anything...yeah, you can imagine my reaction when I learned I was going to be going in Alan's group. "Sweet! I can figure out how he reacts in such and such situation and if he really is anything at all like Alan Auberon! Dude, he is! That is such an Alan thing to do!" *cough*
