+ Got an e-mail back from the professor at Leicester I e-mailed yesterday! He seems nice.
- Misspelled his name. In my defense, the University of Leicester info packet did too. I will now be double- and triple- checking every e-mail I send out, since I have to write...several more of these.
+ Bought a pencil skirt at the NO Fleas Market, which is this resale store nearby where the proceeds to go various animal charities. I keep saying it's camel, but it's a slightly different shade. Very high-waisted, but knee-length.
- Did not actually accomplish much on my two days of actual vacation, whoops.
+ Finally started honors thesis reading!
- First chapter due in one month.
- Still don't have a third reader.
+ Spent evening out with friends at Chicago's house, which is cute and gorgeous and which I would like to move into right now please. HARDWOOD FLOORS.
+ My interlibrary loan book came in!
- I checked my e-mail at 4:54 yesterday and the ILL office closes at 5:00 and doesn't reopen till Monday. Don't worry, I wouldn't have had time to read it anyway.
- Could not find sweet Italian sausage at Whole Foods. Well, maybe I'll just make another vegetarian soup or something.
+ My mother sent me a functional perfect teapot. GIVE ME TEA OR GIVE ME DEATH.
- Need to buy batteries, since my mouse has started flashing red instead of green. That must be a bad sign.
+ Gorgeous weather, if you consider 80 F in the middle of October to be gorgeous. (It is lovely! Except when you want an excuse to wear a corduroy skirt, wine-red tights, a sweater, and ankle boots.)
+ The other day I wrote 200 words of Dust. I think all 200 of them were about clothes.
+ Am very glad that I am not, to the best of my knowledge, involved in the current Narnia wtfuckery, because I am pretty sure I would not handle that well.
Completely unrelated: The barter system is alive and well; tomorrow my mother is trading sushi lessons for wild-caught Alaskan sockeye salmon. WILD-CAUGHT ALASKAN SOCKEYE SALMON. *drools*

Date: 2011-10-15 10:10 pm (UTC)Hee! I spent the afternoon today combing through the Wardrobe Door, studying things IN DETAIL.

I haven't seen your name or any of your stories - probably because she's pulling exclusively from ff.net, which she seems to think is the be-all and end-all of fandom.
Omg salmon and sushi combined makes me drool.

Date: 2011-10-15 11:33 pm (UTC)Actually, on the bright side, this may spur me to add a note about archiving to my profile, since I've never done so because it's never come up for me. So much sympathy for you and
Mmmm, sushi.

Date: 2011-10-16 01:29 am (UTC)It's just such an odd hill for her to die on, you know? Like, if she had just asked, I bet a lot of people would have been like, "Sure, feel free, and I'll give you a clean version for your ePub file, if you want, so no need for you to edit." But this strange insistence on how everyone's trying to take away her RIGHTS by saying, "dude, editing other people's stories is NOT COOL" is just so weird to me.
I went out with a friend for a sushi feast the other night. Multiple rolls of deliciousness! OM NOM NOM SPICY SALMON.
