I haven't been home for Thanksgiving since high school.

Well. It looks like I'll be able to make whatever the fuck I want for Thanskgiving dinner because I'm going to be the only one here. On the other hand, ticket prices dropped for that week from what they were the last time I looked, although it's probably still not low enough to (a) convince my mom to come to New Orleans or (b) convince my mom to let me come home.

I don't know, this will probably be good for me. I can get the experience of what it's like living on my own for a couple of days. Right now I'm just going, "Wow. That's really depressing."

It'll still probably be better than the time I basically just hibernated in my dorm room for four days; I literally did not leave the building (the dining hall closes over break and I was a freshman, I didn't know anything).

Weirdly my parents are also not going to be in town for Thanksgiving. First year that has happened. *boggles*

My parents have never made it into town for Thanksgiving, though every year I am hopeful. (I just really want to try a freaking turducken, which is not really something I can handle on my own. Or that anyone else wants to handle. *sighs*)

Aliyah, Sid, unknown other grad students that Aliyah may invite, and I are having a pre-Thanksgiving handmade holiday luncheon, if you feel the urge to whip up something delish and eat with other people. It will probably be Wednesday of break week. (Aliyah's flying to Trinidad on Thursday for a wedding. Grr, 'spensive wedding!)

Yay! I may or may not make the pre-Thanksgiving thing depending on how I feel about socializing and the phase of the moon and the alignment of the planets etc., but I am basically on campus all the time if you want it.

Oh, yes, we should! I think the last day of class that week is Tuesday, so I'm free after noon that day and then on till Sunday.
