Nov. 1st, 2011 09:44 pmOh my god I am never taking twenty-one credits again. Too much freaking stuff going on in my life, and my time management skills still suck balls, which does not help. Also, new fandom, which at least leads to euphoric squee and then, on the other hand, me going OH SHIT I NEED TO BE DOING SOMETHING ELSE.
I mean, this is not the worst Tuesday I've had so far -- last week was definitely up there, ugh -- but I definitely did not get done what I needed to get done. Ugh ugh ugh. Also, have I mentioned I still haven't started my honors thesis? I SUCK.
I did start my grad school applications, though. Well, one of them. Then I got to the personal statement part and froze up, because what the hell do I write there? (Also...as my mother keeps reminding me, I need to apply to at least one American university, and those deadlines are a lot earlier than UK deadlines.)
Also, is it a bad sign that I based this haunted cabin off the family cabin (read: shack) up near Snoqualmie Pass?
In unrelated news, I got an A on my Chaucer midterm (yay!) and my professor told me that I have the best penmanship he's ever seen. Somewhere around ninety percent of the people who have seen my handwriting have told me that.

Date: 2011-11-02 04:29 am (UTC)Oooh, that's super-cute! I've been so tired lately that I've mostly just been managing ponytails. Or fishtail braids, I got really into that.

Date: 2011-11-02 07:42 pm (UTC)It's the only hairstyle that I feel I can make look good with my hair (at least from behind...I have occasional issues with making french/dutch braids look good from the front). And that's what the first 15 or 20 minutes of class are for, right (oh, lecture-and-reading classes which teach things I learned in middle school, how I love thee)? I've managed to kick myself into a mindset of "anything less than an english braid is unacceptable, and even that is really, really lazy". On my super bleh days, I just don't undo the braid I sleep in. Sleep caps are such an effort saver. Apparently it's not just my imagination: people actually can't tell that you slept in a hairstyle if you use a sleep cap (assuming it's not an easily-smushed hairstyle, I guess).
...I am *such* a hair nerd. If only I could figure out how to get my hair to actually behave...that would be awesome.

Date: 2011-11-02 11:31 pm (UTC)Man, I got into that mindset at my summer program, but lately I've been running so exhausted that it seems like too mcuh effort to eat, let alone do my hair. *sighs* I think my hair is at a weird length, it doesn't stay in braids very well -- the fishtail is a lot more secure for me, for some reason.

Date: 2011-11-02 11:44 pm (UTC)I've only done a fishtail like twice, because it makes my hair look fat. Which sounds crazy, but it does!

Date: 2011-11-03 01:18 am (UTC)I actually got stopped in the street the other day by a lady who wanted to know how I'd managed to braid my hair in a fishtail. /random
