Six wakes up with a thought so revolutionary that she has to get up right then and announce it to whoever's in the cafe. She hurries down the stairs, heels clicking on the concrete, and walks right past the Centurions into the mostly deserted cafe, making out a blonde head that might be a Three or might be a Six, sitting at the same table as an Eight. It doesn't matter who it is. Any of them will do.

"What if Sharon was right?"

She realizes too late that it's not just any Eight sitting with the Three, it's Boomer.

"What if I was right about what?" Boomer says, as Three sighs and shakes her head sadly.

"Now you've put your foot in it, Six," she says.

Six opens her mouth and closes it, tries to find a way to backtrack gracefully, because they'd all agreed to keep Boomer's failed double from her until they thought she could handle it, and there's now probably isn't the way to find out. "I --"

"Don't worry your pretty head about it, Six," says Three. "And don't get too excited, Boomer. She's not talking about you. The traitor had -- radical ideas, shall we say?"

"You told her?" Six says, shocked. "I thought we'd agreed to wait --"

"Wait for what?" Three demands. "It's not something that we should have to wait for. She's a big girl. She can bear the truth that humans are blind and fickle; that she can be replaced. That we all can." She strokes Boomer's hair in a propietary fashion; Boomer jerks away, standing up quickly.

"Frak you," she snaps. "I don't need to hear any more of this. So the other Sharon went rogue and you boxed her, what about it? Just unbox her and find out what her big secret was, then."

"But Sharon wasn't boxed!" Six says. This time, she sees Three's warning and disregards it. "Or didn't she tell you? Sharon defected to the humans with her lover."

Boomer's hand flexes on the back of her chair. "Helo's alive," she breathes.

Three's nostrils flare. "For now. Oh, Six, while we're here, just tell us what your little revelation was. What do you think that human-lover was right about?"

Six glances at Boomer, but this is too important to wait. "What if it is love?" she says. "What if that's the secret to procreation? We thought that if there was love on one side -- if a human loved a Cylon -- then that would be enough, but it's happened before and nothing. What if Sharon was right? What if she really did love Helo and that's why she got pregnant?"

"She's pregnant?" Boomer bursts out, her eyes going huge. "Helo got that -- that copy -- he got her pregnant?"

Three sighs delicately. "Now you've put your foot in it, Six."

"I thought you'd just said you'd told her everything," Six snaps.

"I lied," Three says.

Er, yeah, that was supposed to be a tossed-off first line for later thought. At some point I will write my backstory for Boomer finding out about Helo and Athena.
