*sideeye* I've been going through my old fic putting stuff I don't completely hate up on the AO3 -- no Narnia, just the non-Narnia stuff -- which ends in me going, "Oh, my post-apocalytpic PotC Norrington/Tia Dalma fic!" and "Wow, I wrote Firefly?" And then I troll through the doc folder on my external and run into odd bits off WIPs that didn't go anywhere -- an SGA/Transformers crossover, three SW WIPs, another Firefly Simon/Inara one, random bits of Disney fic (some Lion King stuff, the Princess and the Frog threesome fic that stalled out when I got bored with writing porn).

Old fic is always so much fun to go through. Especially when you've forgotten that you wrote it.

It is equal parts fun and traumatizing. I had (have?) this habit of writing really ordinary scenes and thinking it was all subtext for Deep Thoughts.

I don't try to write any subtext, so maybe that's where we differ?

Though I did have one fic that was kind of traumatizing on the reread because it *wasn't* traumatizing--I kept getting terrified of the characters and city while I was writing it, and the terrifyingness was never made apparent in the writing, probably because I was too terrified to actually write it, lol.
