Wow, this is the second slashiest thing I've ever read in the EU, where Anakin cuts his way through an army of bounty hunters screaming for Obi-Wan after having ~visions, while Obi-Wan snarks and Ki-Adi-Mundi despairs. Then they embrace and stare lovingly into each other's eyes.

I'm not as fond of the art in this one as I am of Last Stand on Jabiim (I'm not reading them in order, just amusing myself with the Anakin/Obi-Wan bits) -- it's mostly the floating heads, it's very classic somehow; reminds me of my dad's stuff that I read when I was a kid (lots and lots of Tarzan comics, mostly) -- but SO SLASHY. (Or bromantic, whatever.) Plus Obi-Wan being awesome. (KICKING PEOPLE IN THE FACE.)

The most slashy thing I've ever read in the EU -- and I haven't done a lot, it's sort of an investment, and I prefer being able to make things up -- is the RotS novelization, obvs. Because their Twoo Wuv, and also the scene where Obi-Wan's like, "Oh, I recognize this butt! This is Anakin's butt! I can pick it out of a line-up upside down and concussed while being hauled up an elevator shaft!" (I...am not making this up. STAR WARS MEANS NEVER HAVING TO SAY YOU'RE MAKING IT UP. Unless you're actually making it up, I guess.)

(Like, I was going, "Mmm, a gladiatorial fight with Jedi, that would be -- oh wait. That happened. IN MOVIE CANON EVEN." ...twice, now that I think about it. Oh, Star Wars. You always bring the crack.)

I feel kind of tangential today. Disregard at will.

Star Wars is one of those fandoms that I wish I could get into, because the parts of it that I like, I really really like. But I'm pretty much only interested in Obi-Wan and/or Anakin post-RotJ*, which um...is kind of a limited selection of fic.

*lol, that's the same initialism as Return of the Joker, and now my mind's trying to mash them together. My mind is craaazy.

My first fandom was Batman, which I cannot see a happy ending to ever (well, okay, I can for the movieverses, and to some extent the cartoons. But not for anything even close to comics canon), so as you can imagine, I'm much more attracted by angst than I am repelled by it. But most of the SW fics that I've liked have been time travel, so they end up being less angsty and more fluffy, because sure, they're people who have had horrible lives, but they're in the past now where everything's all happy (at least relatively speaking). Competence + time travel=guaranteed winner for me except in a few cases. (Hmm, I wonder how many of my idea-producing fandoms have produced time travel ideas?) AUs are fun, or at least the take a left turn at Albuquerque ones are--I don't really understand ones like high school AUs.

I suck at recognizing actors. Mostly I'm at the level of "hey, that guy looks familiar..." except for a few of them. They don't make enough of an impression for me to really associate them with their role in the space of a movie or three.

True that. Although I think it's partly because nobody writes "timetravel has fucked up my life" timetravel fic. Like the Farscape idea I had a while back: post-PKW, he goes back to right before he left Earth, and Earth isn't his home anymore, and his family/friends aren't family/friends yet...would be pretty much the opposite of full of lulz. :(

I don't think I'd actually be successful if I tried to write timetravel (okay, yes, I did write that one timetravel verse, but traveling back 65 million+ years ago and then living through the intervening time is not exactly how normal time travel plots go). And not only because I haven't seen/read much of the canon of my current biggest fandoms, though that's certainly part of it. :P

My ideas come in two main categories: cracktacular and depressing (and okay, there's probably a few that are both cracktacular and depressing at the same time, like...the Joan of Arcadia/Dexter crossover?). Yeah, there's a reason I keep an ideas blog.

It has to be so weird and horrifying to learn that any version of yourself is The big evil in their universe.

Ooh, no, haven't read that (why can't you just work right, Delicious*?).

Susan/Willy Wonka was brilliant!

Honestly, I think that a lot of my ideas would work better if I could write in a non-serious way, because then I wouldn't end up coming up with *completely rational explanations* for my cracktacular ideas and they could actually be lighthearted rather than depressing. Although let's be honest, I'd probably just end up writing that Oedipus AU of Harry Potter. Or at least make better progress on my MEthos goes to Hogwarts fic. Um, on second thought let's just say I'd be writing a lot of HP and Sherlock. (HP/Die Hard! HP/Star Wars barely-an-AU! The one where Harry was raised by dragons! The one where Simba grows up to become Aslan!)

*Er, Delicious the site. I'm not a cannibal, I swear!

I don't remember most of my justification for Simba growing up to be Aslan, but...just how many talking lions who rule over other species of animals and have a father who is dead/in the sky (I'm not super clear on this point) who they talk to, do you think there can be? There are just too many coincidences for them to actually be coincidences. :P

We were playing Disney Scene It and all of the clues except the last one applied to both of them. It was so bizarre, but I'm convinced it's the truth now.

I think this is why I like your stuff, actually - we have a lot of the same literary kinks :D (And I wish you were into Transformers, because the fall of a golden age is what War Dawn is all about, and I'd LOVE to see your take on a variety of the characters in that setting.) Also, time travel is <3

Mine either.

I have a really awful fic in progress right now (Seriously, it's untitled and called the horribleverse, and it's about how the MC can lose everything, including his family and his soul, and still win a war in a non-metaphorical sense without lifting a weapon.) in which I'm totally using (canonical- ONE character in the canon with a timetravel-ish ability) time travel to fix everything for him at the end because he's my favorite character and I can't LEAVE him like that.

And my game is time travel for the opening plot, and my first challenge fic in the fandom (A Different Path) is time travel too!
