Jun. 17th, 2012 06:44 pm*sideeye* So what does one do with a giant pile of notebooks filled with fic, fanfic and origfic, from high school? I can't just throw them away, even if I'm pretty sure I'm never going to look at them again. Stick 'em in a box and hide them under the bed? I would really like to get into the chest they're all piled on, I think.
Also found: hard copy printouts (*flutter*) of various things, including English/Old English/Romany/Celtic dictionaries (I DON'T EVEN KNOW GUYS), the Evil Overlord List (/fond memories), and various Harry Potter conspiracy theories. Er, fan speculation. And some other stuff. Hard copy. God I feel old. Some of this probably dates back to 2001. OH WAIT THEY'RE PROBABLY DATE-STAMPED. 2004.
My mother, pointing at my bookshelves: "If you didn't have all these books in here, there wouldn't be so much dust!"
Me: "...if I didn't have all these books in here, they would be in piles all over the house. OH WAIT THEY ALREADY ARE. There would be even more piles. In fact, my plan is to have more bookshelves in here."
Seriously. If we didn't have books in this house, it would pretty much be empty. I don't know where my mother expects those books would be, then, because we may have a library, but those are all my dad's books, and he won't let me take over the guest bedroom that he stores his clothes in so that I can put all my books there.
At least I don't have ten-year-old food hanging out in here, just books and yarn and notebooks.
