It's been one of those weeks. I had a paper due Tuesday, so I was working on that all through Monday and Tuesday morning, but got it done and turned in, though not quite up to the standard I would have liked. (I'd gotten the due date wrong originally, though I realized that with enough time to actually write said paper.)
Wednesday I woke up to one of those, "OMG, how did blood get there?" mornings when, obviously, I was already running late and it was pouring down rain. Then I got back from class to an e-mail that I was supposed to have turned in two copies of my paper instead of just one, so I had to go back to the university (in the rain), then went grocery shopping with N. (in the rain). Then emergency laundry because of the aforementioned "OMG THERE'S BLOOD EVERYWHERE" morning.
Thursday, yesterday, I took my evening shower and somehow managed to get water all over the bathroom floor (okay) and out the door into my bedroom (not okay). Which meant all the towels got laid down, necessitating another laundry emergency this morning (when obviously I had no change.)
Friday, today, wet towels, laundry emergency, no change, carpet now dry but smelling wonderfully of wet carpet. I went into town and bought another towel, three mangoes, three books, another package of pads (I also have a mooncup that I'm trying to figure out how to use, I are not that smart, okay), and a tea tin, which means I now have change and a clean towel, at least. OH BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE. I bought a new mug yesterday which turns out to have a crack that runs the entire length of it, which I only just figured out a few minutes ago when I tried to pour tea into it. So I guess I can use it to store pens and pencils in. IDIOT. (Me, not the mug.) At least it was only 99p.
If I bought things today it was only because of retail therapy and the customs of my people. (Also I have everything I need to make pumpkin pie except ground ginger and room on my fridge shelf, so...no pumpkin pie. I also need to find out if I can get my riding boots reheeled, but that's not dire at the moment.)
