Some days I remember why I really hate computers. Today is one of those days, given that iTunes decided to delete my ENTIRE LIBRARY and I've spent the past couple of hours trying to get it back, which at one point involved uninstalling it and reinstalling it (I dunno, it seemed like a good idea at the time), which means I now have iTunes 11, sigh. In the past I've been able to do the brute force thing by just copying everything from my iPod back onto the computer, but that doesn't seem to be working this time, unfortunately -- unfortunately because my iPod is backed up to a couple days ago, but my external hard drive, which is what I'm working with now, is only backed up to September, which is when I got the new computer and last had to do this.

Also, I can't remember how I usually do the brute force iPod-to-PC thing, otherwise I suspect this would be much less traumatizing. At least I still hadn't gotten around to completely reconstructing my playlists from the last time I did this, and most of my recent music purchases have been from Amazon rather from iTunes, which I'm not still completely dependent on Apple.

To be fair, I think I panicked initially and made things way more difficult than they actually were, so whoops, but on the other hand, ALL MY FUCKING MUSIC + AUDIOBOOKS + VIDEOS + PODCASTS.

Ugh ugh ugh, I hate everything. Will update on how this goes or if I shall end up in tears again elsewhere. I still don't know how this happened.
