bedlamsbardSo in (many) things I have not mentioned on DW, I am thinking about getting a tattoo. I have wanted one for a while but was never able to figure out what I loved enough to get inked on my body, and also there's a lot of family stuff tied up in here I won't go into but can probably be imagined. And I have been thinking about it and thinking about it and THINKING about it (full disclaimer, one of my Tumblr friends got a gorgeous one recently -- actually, several gorgeous ones, but one that specifically made me sit up and go, "yeah, okay, I think I want to do this" -- so I've also been talking about it with her), and today one of my friends agreed to go with me to the tattoo place and at least talk to them. (Let's be real, though, she was probably like, "holy shit, Bedlam may have actually made a decision for once in her life." I never realize how indecisive I am until I'm interacting with other people.)
I am...pretty sure I want to do it? Pretty sure. I am basically never sure about anything, (see again: most indecisive person on the face of the planet) but I feel pretty certain about this. Though I'm also concerned that I'm just In Crisis; I'm having permanency issues because I got my hair cut and it ended up much shorter than I wanted it to, and I have...a lot of permanency issues as someone who's been living in dorms for the past seven years; this is the first time I've lived in the same place for more than a year, and I'm only here for one more year.
Also I'm going to dye my hair purple (well, it's not actually going to get to purple, it's going to end up brown with a slightly violet tint), so...yeah. I'm kind of worried I'm just having a quarter-life crisis, though there are a lot more harmful ways to do that than dyeing my hair purple and getting a Star Wars tattoo somewhere that I can hide it reasonably easily. (See again, family issues. Also, academia.)
