Nov. 4th, 2006 05:49 pmWell, that's the SAT down. *deep breath*
Oh my God, the football game last night was crazy. The first three hours was, you know, average for a football: pretty boring for the average turtle. The last minute -- no, the last thirty seconds -- was fucking intense. First we got a touchdown and pulled ahead 27-23. Then -- then -- then this Viking hotshot got the ball and started running...and running...and running. And scored a touchdown with six seconds left on the clock. The entire Bulldog stands went dead silent. Then the screaming started.
"OH MY GOD, that did NOT JUST HAPPEN."
Now we're in a three-way tie for the third berth to state, and it's going to be resolved Tuesday with a Kansas City tiebreaker at East Valley, which isn't one of the three schools in the running. Neutral ground. This should be hardcore intense.
Also, must write.

Date: 2006-11-05 02:17 am (UTC)I predict you will do so well, the grading computer will flash the blue screen of death and crash in joy.

Date: 2006-11-05 02:38 am (UTC)Also, I had to go to Yakima to take the SAT, and I hate Yakima.
Oooh, cookies. *grabs*

Date: 2006-11-05 02:42 am (UTC)Traveling not so fun. I only had to go to the HS in my town. (of course I ended up having to take 3 seperate angry-making standardized tests that year, which was its own set of hatred.)
Cookies and home-made soup if you want it. :)

Date: 2006-11-05 03:01 am (UTC)I think there were like five schools represented, at least in the room I was in? Ellensburg, Kittitas, Selah, Naches, Davis -- Ike's the only testing center nearby, so there were people both from the Yakima area, which has about a million high schools, and from the Kittitas Valley, which really should just be able to test Ellensburg HS.
*counts* PSAT down, SAT down, three AP tests in spring, the ASVAB -- I'm looking at taking the SAT again in the spring too, as well as the ACT. Man, and I thought I was done with testing after finishing the WASL.

Date: 2006-11-05 03:07 am (UTC)...wait, wait that's ... SIX? And why would you want to take the SAT again? I considered it, but just because I'd taken it when I was 13. The ACT, too? Oy. Man. All I had to do that year was the MCAS Math/English, SSAT (secondary school admissions test) and the SAT. Didn't take another one til 10th grade MCAS and the PSAT.

Date: 2006-11-05 03:21 am (UTC)Well, it depends how I do. Oh, God, you can tell where my mind is, I just typed "die" instead of "do." I'll probably take it again just to bump my math score up, if I did completely horribly. And the ACT, because I want to see how I do on that.
I'm taking nothing in May besides the AP tests, because I have to take all three of them within the course of a week. Yay.

Date: 2006-11-05 03:25 am (UTC)You'll do fine, don't worry. I mean ... dunno if this is for colleges to look at, but a lot of them the SAT/ACT might be the last thing they look at. And from what I know about you, they will *fawn* over you, test scores or not. (you're wicked smart, you're well-rounded, you're creative, you're ... terrifyingly driven sometimes *arches eyebrow*).
AP tests seem crankyify people no matter how well prepped for them they are. Pre-emptive cookies?

Date: 2006-11-05 03:40 am (UTC)Aw, thanks. *blushes*
Oooh, funny story about college apps, which the seniors are doing right now: So, my Tolo date, Colin, wanders past our table at lunch, while we're staring at the giggling going on at the table he's sitting at, which includes a couple of senior boys and a couple of junior girls. "Do you know what they did they're laughing about?" Colin demands. We (another lot of junior girls) shake our heads. "The papers that determine my future, my entire future, what will become of my life, are on that table, and what does the woman do?" We arch our eyebrows. "She gets crumbs on them." More giggling, from both tables now.
On the other hand, our lead alto and principal violinist of KVYO is flying cross-country this spring to audition at some college. WHY ARE THEY LEAVING US?!
Er, that was an abrupt change of subject.
At least I can be relatively sure that I will have no other tests during that period of time. Last year I had physics tests both weeks of the WASL, and it sucked.
