* Six-week terms are really weird, y'all. This isn't even half the length of a regular term, so I'm left going, "But -- but -- BUT I'M JUST GETTING STARTED!" and flailing wildly. And then I'm back in New Orleans in three weeks; going back to a sixteen-week semester is going to be weird. Only two more days of classes! WEIRD.
* My textbooks have started arriving! Mostly my books for Age of the Vikings, along with one book for The Peloponnesian and Punic Wars (seriously, is there any word harder to spell than "Peloponnesian"? I do not think so). Amazon has notified me dolorously that two shipments are delayed because of "adverse weather conditions or natural disasters" -- one of them is out of Illinois and one is out of Oregon. I do not think either state is having a natural disaster or bad weather? But whatever.
* Today in Latin we watched Monty Python's Life of Brian, because my professor figured that he'd already stuffed as much Latin into our heads as he was going to manage in six weeks. On Friday we are watching A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum. Tomorrow we are having a quiz that I suppose in theory will not take the entire class, since we usually finish quizzes in twenty minutes or so?
* Am taking advantage of Brooks Library's free printing to print out various knitting patterns that I want to tackle this year. OH KNITTING I like you a lot.
* I have two subplots for Dust part two that I did not have a month ago, but I still cannot figure out how to write Point B, because I need it there! I cannot go straight to points C, D, E, or F, because I need point B! But I don't know what's happening there!
* Night before last I dreamed up a LotR/BSG crossover, in which Eowyn was the final Cylon and Starbuck was Adama's daughter. There was less LotR than one might think, except it was definitely medieval and definitely Eowyn and...I think there were all women in my dream.
* In conclusion, meme:
If you could have me write a fic specifically for you, what would it be like? Fandom, characters/pairing, genre, plot elements, kinks... what's your ideal fic from me?
