I need to find my cowboy icons
Jul. 29th, 2010 11:04 amQuiz one down, which means I got out of Latin an hour and a half early, which I should probably be spending studying for my geology test, which shall be followed up by a geology quiz and then a field trip + lab, and then geology is done for the term (!) and I have one day of Latin left, which shall be spent in movie mode. Also possibly entirely on campus since the Idiot Ford is still down for the count and I'm not comfortable driving the 4-Runner in non-disaster situations.
In truly exciting news, three of my issues have gotten hit today, one of them spillover from last night, the other one spillover from yesterday morning, the other one the recurring Asian Angst which shows up now and then. Only one of them I'm comfortable talking about in public, mostly because it gets me pissed off instead of in tears, and isn't quite as personal as the others. Also I will not be talking about it right now because now is not really the time to bitch about how city slickers DO NOT UNDERSTAND the rodeo culture that exists in farming-and-ranching country, especially since I don't have the book I'm reading at hand and also...studying.
Also I am debating checking out books from the university library on the Punic Wars and English dairy culture from 1500-1800, because I intend to be the first historian to combine military history and agricultural history! Which are actually much more linked than one might think! (The British desire for beefsteak to feed the army/navy = the development of the beef cow = the end of the multipurpose cow = the beginning of the specialized cow = why beef cows and dairy cows are entirely different animals.) I am strong with my country roots right now. (The two books are, uh, entirely unrelated.)
