The term "white hat" would not be known in 1949 Britain, would it? Or America; Edmund or Peter could have picked it up from American GIs? Not a particularly big deal (not like FUCKING UP THE RANK SYSTEM OF THE RAF HELLO), but 'twould be interesting to know.

Also: you know how it's a bad, bad sign when King Edmund the Just loses his temper? King Edmund the Just just lost his temper.

The Narnians of Tirian's age. And it's -- not really a good thing. Like, at all. Like, here's the outburst:

Oh dear oh dear oh dear! Well, these Narnians can piss off anyone from the Golden Age, I suspect, and a large number from the PC era, too! Just like you said, they'd be horrified, and pissed off. *snorts*

So Edmund, it's entirely within reason to lose your temper! Or maybe even a brilliant idea, too! Just to let these guys know that the kings and queens of old are not someone they can mess with. *snickers*

Everybody's used to Peter having rages...and I imagine the girls have let loose a few times, in their own ways...but Edmund's normally so controlled and so much about *being* the supportive one, that to see him lose it must be doubly alarming. I doubt he'd be much better pleased at their being worshipped than at being feared.

:nitpicks: er, goddamned is never heard in Britain. or 'guys' pre-1960s. You'd get sneered at for using americanisms. *especially* in the armed forces. Same for the phrase 'good' in referring to yourself. Same for 'white hats' - you'd know what it meant, but never use it.

Well, that and people are running away from him in fear. Which is what set him off in the first place, and then Tirian explains why, and then there is a shrine, and Tirian crossing himself (but not for Christianity, for the four! Head for Peter's crown, left and right shoulder for Susan and Edmund, Peter's right and left hands, and heart for Lucy).

Well, there's -- a slight problem in that the majority of the Narnians either believe that, a, Aslan doesn't exist because of Puzzle, who I think was revealed and killed in one of the refugee camps, b, Aslan has abandoned them because the Calormenes have taken over Narnia and the whole Puzzle situation, or, c, they don't believe in Aslan, period.

So, in other words, this will go badly.
