I am so bad at social situations. God damn it. I suck at this shit, and I hate having to start over from scratch so I'm not even trying, and I know I'm not even trying.
Well, it's a social organization, and at most schools there are fraternity and sorority houses, where members of the fraternity or sorority can live off-campus (or sometimes they're on-campus) (Tulane only has frat houses, since there's an old New Orleans law that prevents more than a certain number of women living together. Because then it would be a brothel. Trivia!), and they're called Greek organizations since most of them take their names from Greek letters -- the band fraternity (which is honorary, meaning its members generally have something in common and support a specific cause/purpose/something like that) is Kappa Kappa Psi. And to join one, you have to rush, and if you see college movies, that's generally what you see; it's the crap freshmen have to do in order to be a part of it. Most schools rush at the beginning of the school year, in August (or whenever); Tulane rushes at the beginning of second semester.
Or something like that, anyway; I don't know. I may learn more when Greek Week starts and people I know start rushing.
Well, good luck with your band fraternity! I'd dunno...what do you talk about in band? See if you can talk about that to other people and get to know them better that way. :D
Well, KKPsi's not about band, per se; it's just made up of band members, and I don't know any of them, and I'm not even in the same band as most of them; I'm in the concert band, they're in the marching band.
