It says a lot about the responses that I have gotten on this piece of meta that every time I click on the comment notification e-mail and the first bit of it comes up -- "Book canon only" -- I wince and brace myself for the comment, because I've gotten some stuff that's...I mean, this was the post that led to my, uh, public semi-breakdown. And there's a handful of stuff like that on there. (I mean, for the love of the gods, paraphrasing here, Aslan brings the Pevensies into Narnia so that he can give them a life because he knows they're going to die young!)

Went down to the Quarter with several of my friends. Bought yarn. Ate food. Was on Bourbon Street...not actually all that late, but after dark, and Bourbon Street freaks me the hell out.

congratulations. you are now a true new orleanian. times when it is acceptable to be on bourbon: dining at galatorie's. (which i just completely misspelled.) have you had a chance to eat at angelli's yet? gone to hookah cafe? remember this is the city that considers you old enough to drink if you can see over the bar. (that is in fact a lie and you should never ever go to the bars who follow that rule as they are bad.)

We weren't even doing anything! Just going from Jackson Square back to Canal Street, and on Bourbon rather than Royal because the guy we were with (we were showing a friend of mine's mom's coworker around, and we were with her because her mother didn't want her taking the streetcar alone after dark) wanted to see Bourbon. STRANGE AND FREAKY.
