*covers face with hands and shrieks* Don't do it, Aiden! Don't do it! NOOOOOOOOOO!

My God, Flack, what the hell did you do to your hair? The hell? And you look more uptight than Mac, which is...saying something, actually. You look like a Fed! Which is not a compliment, by the way.

Stella, what is it with you and pathologists? No, really. I mean, they just feel obligated to make you hold things and stick your hands into dead bodies and stuff.

CBS...you stole my plot. No, seriously. Murder in the Empire State Building. Law firm. One of the partners having an affair with the secretary. I agree that the specifics of it aren't all exact, but still, that's a pretty close resemblance. *pokes* Stop reading my fic!

That was pretty much all I wanted to say on that note.

Now, on a Bardverse note...this isn't going to change anything. Things should still go along as planned - Habeus Corpus will still get written, Bloody Sunday will continue as previously planned. Now, things the show does in canon may echo in the Bardverse - they could be fanonized - but the Bardverse officially goes AU after Season 1. Actually, it probably went AU long before that, but that's when the official resemblance ends.

Besides, am I the only one faintly amused by the fact that canon, known for being a very dark show, is lightening up and the Bardverse is getting much, much darker?

*Exactly* my reaction last night. I saw where they were going with it, and...oh, man. I'm pretty pleased, though, because if it plays out like I think it's going to, this is a lot more interesting than her getting killed. (And good story material. Heh. I can *work* with this.)

Exactly. I mean, I was expecting as much as everyone else a Death. Which, as you said, may yet happen. But if she's not dead, that means she can come back, at least in fic - maybe not as a CSI, but maybe as a PI, or a uniform officer, or...something. I mean, maybe the big major lab implosion we were all predicting isn't going to happen, but I suspect there's going to be a smaller one.

Although it looks like she's still going to kick the bucket in the Bardverse. Whoops.

I like that description, of canonical events having echoes in the Bardverse. And as eager to see what happens there as I am to see what happens on the show.

Aw. *is pleased* What I use as my basis for going AU is [livejournal.com profile] rahirah's BtVS fic, where she has an entire universe that goes AU after Season 5 of Buffy, but elements from canon still make it in, just fanonized.

*nod* There's not going to be a big implosion, but I suspect a series of smaller ones. Even with the clear ethical violation, I suspect that Danny and Flack, in particular, may not react well to Mac's firing her, because they've both been on the wrong end of his judgment, too, and have pre-existing issues with him. It's just going to increase the tension all around, for everyone.

Oh, absolutely. I hadn't thought of that before, but it's so, so true. For both of them - Mac gave Danny a second chance, so why shouldn't he give Aiden one, and Gavin and Aiden's mistake both had to do with evidence - at least, we're assuming Aiden's screw-up has to do with evidence - which is obviously going to hit hard with Flack. Man, this is so not going to end well.

Nooo, no it's not. Not in the least. And Danny is still convinced that Mac doesn't trust him, and doesn't have his back, or anyone else's -- that he cares more about the lab than he does any of them -- so this is only going to further cement that opinion. It's also, I have to say, going to work really well for Starverse. I really, really did not want to deal with a death in that universe, but this actually ties in with, like, themes and shit.

I think the entire lab has trust issues right now - all except maybe Stella and Hawkes, who hasn't been there long enough to appreciate the madhouse he's getting into. It'll be interesting to see how he adjusts. And I'm still curious about how they're going to introduce Lindsay. (in the Bardverse, she gets introduced to Flack by Mac: "This is Detective Flack." Lindsay: *flirt* "Do you have a first name?" Flack: "Yeah. Detective." He's...ah, bitter. Not sure why. *prods* There's so a story in between Habeus Corpus and Bloody Sunday.) I plan to cut the Bardverse off after Bloody Sunday, at least right now, so I won't have to deal with the aftermath. Until further notice, that is. (Not to mention everybody's in the hospital or the morgue, so...not much story there, ya think?)
