college life. so exciting I may explode.

So, I think college makes you stupid. Or maybe not you, maybe just me. Because one of the things I have said today happened to be the immortal words, "Oh, hey, my yarn is -- OH MY GOD THAT'S NOT YARN THAT'S FLOUR."

Because the two are so similar, you know.

Also, "Man, my back hurts, and it would help to go lie down, but I don't want to do that because there's nothing I can do while flat on my back."

*long pause*

"And that's not an option STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT."

"I was thinking about masturbation!" (This is my roommate, Lesley. Sometimes, she reads my LJ. Hi, Lesley!)

*weakly* "...I wasn't."

"Well, whatever floats your boat!"

"I am pretty sure there have to be two people for that, and there is also no one!"

"Yes, there is!"

"What, are you going to run down the hall screaming, 'My roommate wants to spend some quality time on her back! Are there any takers?'"

"I could."

So, as you can see, it's all fun and games over here at Casa Four Women Under One Roof, Oh Yeah, And All Those Other People Who Live In This Building.

Also, I'm pretty sure watching the Food Network every night while at college is a kind of masochism. But. You know. FOOD.

I swear, if I watched food shows at college (college=hall of residence), I would actually die of Decent Food Deprivation. As it is every once in a while I have to go off to sjazz's place and cook frantically so I don't go mad.

One of my friends lives in an on-campus apartment. I plan to take full advantage of this. Unfortunately, it is hard to buy cooking supplies in the proper quantities when you have no storage space. *dramatic sigh*

My best friend from high school is at uni up the coast from me, and her college is divided into catered and noncatered. She moved to noncatered last year and she's loving it. I wish my college did noncatered, but I don't think any of Sydney Uni's colleges do.

My dorm actually has a kitchen, but, well. No storage space. Naturally, the food from dining services is Not All That Great. *dramatic sigh*

Ours is okay I suppose - apparently we have the best food out of all the colleges here, which makes me want to NEVER EVER EVER go to any of the others. They do some really funny signs though - one of ineptshieldmaid's friends kept the one that said "Vagina Ham" (for Virginia Ham). I'm not even kidding. There's also been "Indian Chicken Pumpkin Style" and "Fish of the Nigh". Fish of the Nigh's actually pretty good!

Aaaand I should go to bed, it's 12.30am here and I have class tomorrow.

We actually have pretty good food compared to a lot of other universities -- last year, during the evacuation for Hurricane Gustav (I'm at Tulane in New Orleans, we know hurricanes!), students evacuated to Jackston State U, and apparently their food made even our food look good.

OH TIME DIFFERENCES. It is 9:45 am here and I just woke up an hour ago!
