bedlamsbardNew Octavian is growing on me. Agrippa is kind of adorable. The contrast of the "young guard" in the second season -- Octavian, Agrippa, and the other one whose name I haven't caught yet -- to the older statesmen in season one is kind of interesting, and possibly deliberate? I can't quite tell, not knowing enough of the history to know how much (or not) they messed with the ages. It's a really interesting contrast, though.
Atia is so much love, omg. Although I keep thinking that she and Octavian are both Up To Something at all times. Like mother, like son; Octavia is clearly an aberration.
I really want to care about Vorenus and Pullo, but I just can't do it. I try, guys, I really try. But all I want is the plotting and the politics! Although on the other hand, wow, we may actually be getting some personality from the kids. (I'm not really too keen on the way that the show treats all the women but Atia, though, so I'm dubious. Especially since the cover copy says that in an upcoming episode Pullo's going to suffer a personal tragedy, which probably means something's going to happen to Eirene. OF COURSE.) Zuleikha Robinson is gorgeous, though. Absolutely gorgeous.
It, um, took me far too long to recognize Antony with the beard. Crap facial recognition skills, y'all. I kind of liked him with the armor and the furs, though, very barbarian chieftain.
The penultimate scene with Atia and Antony and Octavian! That was gorgeous. I wish they'd ended on that instead of the Vorenus family fuck-up in progress. DO NOT FUCK WITH OCTAVIAN. And Atia loves her son! (I think. Or she's up to something. Or a combination of the two, you know.)
Agrippa abducting Octavia! Aww, how cute. That poor bastard must think he has the worst luck ever, though; Atia keeps walking in on his declarations of adoration, and Octavia seems unimpressed.
