* I am attempting not to choose where I apply to go for study abroad by whatever country has the highest concentration of my flist. This is probably going to fail horribly. *grins* Come! Pimp your English-speaking country and your alma mater out to me! Tulane has programs at approximately five million schools in the U.K. (six in London alone) and two in Australia. And one in Washington D.C., but I don't think I really need anyone to rec the U.S. at me. (Tulane's study abroad programs are here, if anyone happens to be interested; I would be surprised if you were. I mostly just want to flee the country for a little while.)

* And people wonder why I put that line in Dust 16 about Narnians decorating everything. FOR GOOD REASON. Ships are pretty, I know, you don't have to tell me that, but is it too much for me to drool over the scene where the sea monster nearly crushes the Dawn Treader to bits? Not least because, well, sea monster. (Don't cut that scene, Apted and new screenwriter whom I don't trust! But then again, why would they? I mean...sea serpent.)

* Fic up at [livejournal.com profile] houseofpevensie: first, from me and [personal profile] aella_irene Where the Heart Is (Pauli Pevensie on Jack's funeral), Rough Seduction (Alambil/Piotr), Emotion in Motion (first-time Jack/Helen), and Love's Mysteries (Helen, finding out that getting sex ed when you're the High King's daughter is very difficult). Second, from me, When the Wind Is Wild With Shouting (more Pauli, this time with Lucinde Pevensie). And third, the list of Dramatis Personae, for all the times you've read Junior Pevensie fic and wondered who the hell these people are and why they're important.

* I really have to start packing up to move back to Tulane next week. I should have started this a week ago, but I'm going to see about shipping my boxes a little later than I should have (I'm moving in early) so that they arrive after the move-in rush. There's not a lot I need immediately, especially since I kind of doubt I'll really be wearing my ten pairs of jeans in New Orleans in August, or any of my slightly heavier clothing. (Note to self: this year, bring an outfit that I can wear when I fly back to Washington in December. You know, where the weather is COLD IN DECEMBER. This I can obviously ship.)

So, for those with an inclination to such things, there is a surfeit of Junior Pevensie (and some Original Flavor Pevensie) fic over at [livejournal.com profile] houseofpevensie, from both myself and [personal profile] aella_irene, covering everything from the Golden Age up until the grandchildren's reign, as of this minute.

Dude, you can totally tell I'm reading Scott Lynch right now; the descriptive parts of Dust change radically. (The neighborhood names do, too. It's kind of interesting. I mean, in earlier parts of Dust we've got the Garden District, the North and South Banks, Land's End, the Black Pearl, the Riverfront -- and now we have Kingshope, West-of-Death, Maidensorrow, etc.)

It's usually very easy to tell what I'm reading when I'm writing. To a lesser extent, what I've been watching as well, but that's less obvious. (Jack Pevensie. Darling. Sorry about that.)

Meanwhile, in the Junior Pevensie 'verse, Peter and Susan are now Arthur Pendragon's great-grandparents. Think about that, why don't you?

* Joie de Vivre, Golden Age, Peter/Susan, up over at Porn Battle VIII on DW. In which I rip off Mardi Gras kind of dramatically, but there's a lot of worldbuilding! (I actually really like this one, so it's probably going up over here later.)

* Homecoming, Junior Pevensies, Jack/Richard/Helen, cowritten by [personal profile] bedlamsbard and [personal profile] aella_irene, up over at [livejournal.com profile] houseofpevensie. Helen's men come home to Cair Paravel.

Interesting. This is the point in time when I am writing far too many things at once and therefore cannot concentrate on any of them. Usually I just have one -- Dust -- and then occasionally I have something else. Right now I have five, and it's breaking my brain. One of these is in edits ("Jump in the Fire", the Junior Pevensies PC AU), one is in the progress of being typed up and being in edits ("Mercy Call", Peter/Susan in England), one is Dust 17 (two paragraphs. Lucy POV. I know, I'm surprised too), one is in the process of being written ("Amazing Grace", Junior Pevensies, Jack on Val's death), and one is the colonial fantasy novel (winner of the weird googling of the day award, but don't worry; it's only five in the afternoon. Something else can still come up).

I'm just saying, if my head explodes at any time in the next few days, as I try to knock all these off one by one, you know why. I do not like having more than one thing in progress at a time; it's why I wanted to finish Dust before I started in on the originals. Clearly that did not occur.

*twitches*

ETA: One down, more to go. Amazing Grace is up over at [livejournal.com profile] houseofpevensie, starring King Jack Pevensie and a rotting corpse Prince Valentine Pevensie.

[personal profile] aella_irene and I have finished our massive(-ish, compared to Dust; I will think twice before I call anything massive ever again) PC revisionista [livejournal.com profile] houseofpevensie fic! In which there are the following: incest, lots of; original characters, many; revisionism, bucketfuls (from two different canonical sources, even!); fighting, not as much as one might think; threesomes, two; angst, buckets of; Pevensies, senior and junior; and AWESOME, FREIGHTER SHIPS FULL OF.

Now we have to make it readable to humankind.
