Stop the presses! Caspian has managed to learn that the world does not revolve around him. *is shocked*
This would be an interesting story to tell from two POVs, except I swore I'd never do that again after "In Constellated Wars." But still...
*sigh* Actually, to get the transitory aspect of the Caspian of "In Constellaed Wars" and the Caspian of "Once More for the Ages" that y'all keep asking for, I probably would have to do this from Caspian's POV, because all we're getting now is Edmund going, "Good, he's not so annoying, maybe I won't have to kill him and call it an accident after all," and cutting himself open (for, uh, unrelated reasons).
Look, see?
“The High King is in Narnia,” Caspian insists, and keeps talking even when the nix hits him again, spitting the words out along with blood and a shard of broken tooth. “The High King is at Aslan’s How, answering the call of Queen Susan’s horn. Peter of Narnia is here.”
“Lying Telmarine bastard!” the nix declares as Edmund revises his opinion of Caspian substantially.

Date: 2008-09-20 02:55 am (UTC)(I like Peta's Caspian so much better than Peter's Caspain, and Peta/Caspian are my Narnia OTP. You think I'm kidding, but I am being so serious)
Oh, gosh, I haven't read Odessy in so long, I don't remember it at all. *danms you and your cryptic self*
On a side note, I am off to see PC. They still have it at the dollar theatures here. It's been like 5 months, how awsome is that?
(no subject)
Date: 2008-09-20 03:45 am (UTC)I am so flattered. You have no idea. I will write you Peta/Caspian if you give me a prompt! (Though if I have to write anything with Rilian, I'm withdrawing the offer. *snerk*)
It's not that long of a story, so you'll see soon, hopefully.
(no subject)
Date: 2008-09-20 07:00 am (UTC)No, I am so flattered. You are offering to write a prompt for me. And even though you just had a promt post,I feel so special. Okay, so, I think you once said somewhere, sometime that Peta threw a total fit over the wedding and Edmund and Susan were running around trying to calm her down, and Lucy was just laughing, and Caspian was all "OMG, what have I gotten myself into?" so could you like elaborate on that? Or just anytime Peta throws a fit about something. Or anything about the wedding.
I hope I'm not being too specific. If I am, just write ANYTHING because I sort of love everything you write.
Also I have a question about Peta. You said once that Peta and Susan were closer than Peter and Susan (which makes total sense, but, idk, I'm just having a hard time pictureing thier relationship) but what about Peta and Peter's Susan? What is thier relationship like? What are the differences between Peter's Susan and Peta's Susan (if any) and how does Peta's relationship differ with each one? Also, what about Peta and Peter's Edmund? Diddn't they have like an on-again off-again relationship? Is there still tension (well, on Peta's side that is)?
*bombards you with questions*
Yay! It bothered me in the movie that it was just like *POOF* they had thier armor there, when they obviously didnn't carry it there, so I'm really glad that you are answering all my burning movieverse questions.

Date: 2008-09-20 04:36 pm (UTC)Ficlet bit coming! At some point in the near future.
Well, I'm not really sure about Peta and the Peterverse Pevensies, mostly because I haven't quite worked out the timeline for that yet. I know that there is a situation that prompts Peta and Susan into liking and trusting each other. Initially Susan's pretty hesitant about the whole thing for book canon reasons; she's trying to move on, she's not really sure about this crazy chick that Peter married, etc. and so forth. After all, it's not really that easy to accept that your brother, the crazy one who used to be High King and hello, mostly sleeps with men, although recently not with anyone, and just came back from WWII, married a female version of himself from another world. But there's some mutual understanding there eventually.
By the time Peta meets Peter's Edmund, she and her Edmund haven't slept together for the better part of twenty years; she was married to Caspian, after all. She's probably likely to drop that bombshell at some point, but it's not really an issue. On the other hand, Edmund's deeply suspicious of Peta, probably for good reason.
I am filling in gaping (or just there) plot holes. It makes me happy. Or, well, in this case it depresses me horribly, but that has less to do with the movie and more to do with what I'm writing.

Date: 2008-09-20 07:10 pm (UTC)Yeah, I guess it makes sense for them to be really "WTF!" about the whole thing but I can definatly see Susan trusting Peta before Edmund does. So, does this mean that Susan ends up going to the Stepford Country, as well? Or does "Be Like Water" transition into Immortal!Susan fic? I imagine going back to Narnia again, and not only her Narnia but an alternate universe of her Caspian's Narnia, would leave her pretty pissed or screwed up and she might even be more likely to not end up in Stepford Country. *ponders*
Also, can I add that it makes me really happy that they slept together, like, by choice? Peter/Edmund(/Narnia) really losses alot of its hotness becasue of all the creepy, but Peta/Edmund, omg, I think my brain just exploded from all the hotness. I really want to read them now? *headdesk*
Oh, I can just imagine that scene, and I am loling all over the place.
Edmund: We did what?
Peta: Oh, stop being so dramatic, Edmund.
Is it bad that when I went and saw PC (again) last night, I spent the whole time going "This is where Edmund gets drunk," and "After this is the assasination attempt," and "Here is where Caspain and Edmund go get the armor," and "Then Caspain and Peter makeout." Also, when does the Peter/Narnia(/Edmund) scene happen in PC? I put it after the council of war but before the raid. *shrugs*

Date: 2008-09-20 07:36 pm (UTC)*bemused* Peta/Edmund and Peta/Narnia is a lot less screwed up than Peter/Narnia(/Edmund) because Peta's connection with Narnia isn't as strong as Peter's is, for a couple of reasons. Narnia doesn't have as strong a hold over her as she does over Peter; Peta's not in love with Narnia.
Sometimes I think I write stuff just for the snark.
Peter: You slept with Edmund?
Peta: What, didn't you?
Peter: Edmund slept with you?
Peta: Well, you did.
Peter: That's different! I wasn't...her.
Peta: Well, neither was he.
Edmund: Oh my God.
Aw. *is touched* The Peter/Edmund(/Narnia) would take place right after "The Bone's Prayer", which is when Caspian and Edmund go off to Cair Paravel to get the armor.
(no subject)
Date: 2008-09-21 10:50 am (UTC)So, when you say Peta/Narnia is there any sort of physical relationship (like Peter/Narnia(/Edmund) but not as bad or not with Edmund) or is it all theory? Did they have any sort of bond beyond the initial bonding (like a less intense version of the earth bond)? Is Narnia ever in Peta's head? Also, does Peta's Narnia and Peter have a stronger bond than Peta and Peta's Narnia? Does Peta's Narnia fall in love with Peter? Wow, now I am imagining Peter'sNarnia/Peter/Peta'sNarnia love triangle or even worse Peter'sNarnia/Peter/Edmund/Peta'sNarnia/Peta love pentagon. There are so many combinations of this, like if Peta's Narnia likes Peter better, we have Peter/Peta'sNarnia/Peta, and then we'll obviously have Peter/Peta'sNarnia(/Edmund). omg, my brain.
The snark (mostly the sibling snark) you write, is my favorite of yours. It never stops being funny, like, I just read "Ere Yet We Lose The Legions" again and the snark still made me really happy. I just feel like you really get them. And it are hilarious to boot.
Oh, that makes sense. So "The Bones Prayer" happens after "In Constelated Wars" but before Peter is being all emo while staring at a gaint picture of Aslan at the How? Does anything else of importance happen between "In Constelated Wars" and "The Bones Prayer"?
Just curious, but do Edmund and Peter ever sleep with eachother other than Peter/Narnia(/Edmund) or Edmund/WhiteWitch(/Peter)? I just find it interesting that Peta and Edmund get together outside of creepy love triangles but Peter and Edmund don't. But then again, with all the creepy Peter/Narnia(/Edmund) going on, I don't think they'd really want to have sex outside of that. I wonder if there was no earth bond if they would have the same kind of relationship that Peta and Edmund have. *ponders*

Date: 2008-09-21 02:51 pm (UTC)There is, but I think (and I could be wrong, because I don't really think about Golden Age Peta all that much) that it was only the one time. And Peta not being Peter, Narnia doesn't tend towards full-out possession. The Peta/Narnia bond is a much healthier bond than the Peter/Narnia bond -- I think the strength of the Peter/Narnia bond was what Narnia needed at the time, but Peta was a lot more opposed to it than Peter was, and so the bond turned into what would have been a healthy bond during a healthy period in Narnian history. (So Peta's Narnia, during the Golden Age and then during the Second Summer, her reign in Telmarine Narnia, wasn't necessary as healthy or successful as Peter's.) A weaker bond, one that didn't give Narnia as much power -- more or less just the awareness of the country at a barely conscious level, and very occasionally knowledge of how Narnia's feeling at the moment. Whereas Peter's aware of it all the time.
And yeah, Peta's Narnia likes Peter better. There's an awkward moment...though frankly, on some level Peta's glad of it, because she's so relieved at what she, Edmund, and Caspian (because the second time 'round, it was Caspian rather than Edmund) ended up with compared to Peter and his Edmund. And on another level...well. Awkwardness all 'round!
Aw, thanks. *blush*
No, I think -- and I don't remember exactly what happens in that scene, because there's a similar scene at the end of "Constellated" and I, um, get them mixed up -- it happens after that. And I don't think there's anything important between the two, although there's a radical departure in Caspian's attitude (which, hell, I think is covered in the film, but people keep telling me I have to explain), but there's one bit between "The Bone's Prayer" and the battle, and probably one before "Constellated." It could happen afterwards, though. *thoughtful*
Maybe? I'm not really sure. I think Peter has too much of a guilt complex, and Edmund doesn't prefer men.

Date: 2008-09-21 07:15 pm (UTC)Peta gives him an alarmed look and then looks down. "I don't think I can get more pregnant," she says. "Please tell me I can't get more pregnant. I already hate being this pregnant."
"Unless you're having twins," Lucy says from where she's kicking her heels up on Peta's bed, leafing through one of the books from the castle library.
Peta's expression goes stony. Edmund sees Caspian steel himself visibly as Peta turns her head towards him. "Caspian," she says, "if you got me pregnant with twins, I'll kill you."
"Twins don't run in my family," Caspian says hastily.
"They don't in ours, either," Susan says soothingly, sweeping in from the hallway with an armful of fabric. "Trufflehunter's just gotten back to; the Narnians won't accept a Telmarine wedding, and the Telmarines won't accept a Narnian wedding. We are going to have to do two, I'm afraid, rather than combine traditions from both like I'd hoped."
"Two?" Peta says, horrified. "And by Narnian wedding you don't mean --"
Susan gives her a gimlet glare. "Yes," she says. "I do."
Edmund glances over at Caspian. "How's that going to go over?" he mutters to Susan as she comes over.
"I'm hoping she's willing to get him drunk," Susan says under her breath, and starts laying out the fabric samples on the bed next to Lucy. "There's crimson, scarlet, carmine, burgundy --"
"They're all red," Peta says flatly.
"Yes," Susan says. "They're all red. They're all various shades of red, because in Telmarine tradition, the bride wears red, and then the groom rips the dress off her body."
Caspian coughed. "Not --"
"Really?" Peta says, looking a little more interested. Or at least less like she wants to kill something.
"In the bedroom," Susan continues. "Apparently they used to do it in public, but that part of the tradition has fallen out of vogue in the past century or so."
"Thank the little gods," Caspian murmurs.
"Su," Edmund says, turning to her, "isn't Peta going to get more pregnant?"
Susan blinks at him. "I don't think she can get pregnant again at the moment."
"Ever," Peta hisses. "Never again. Caspian, if you even think about getting me pregnant again --"
"I didn't --"
"You most certainly did," she snaps. "There certainly wasn't anyone else, and if you're implying that I --"
"No!" he says, sounding and looking horrified. "Of course not! I would never! I just meant --"
"Stop now," Edmund advises him. "But I'm serious, isn't she --"
"How far along are you?" the sempstress asks Peta briskly.
Peta hesitates. "Two months?" she says uncertainly, and then looks at Edmund.
"How am I supposed to know?" he demands.
"Well, I don't," she snaps back. "I was a little preoccupied by the war."
The sempstress nods to herself. "And when is the wedding?" she inquires, only looking a little scandalized by the prospect of marrying a pregnant queen to her prince.
(no subject)
Date: 2008-09-21 07:15 pm (UTC)"In three months," Susan says. "We're already rushing it --"
"Rushing?" Peta says disbelievingly.
"-- but the baby should be legitimate, and I don't think Peta should be nine months pregnant at the altar."
"She'll just be beginning to show, then," the sempstress says. "I can compensate for that in the design, I'm sure."
"If we have to get married, can't we just get married now?" Peta demands. "Why all the rigmarole? It seems like far too much trouble, and the longer we wait the more chance something will go wrong. I don't want to have to kill another fiance."
"I don't like that idea either," Caspian adds helpfully.
"It's not about the wedding," Susan says briskly. "It's about making a political point about Narnia and Telmarine Narnia."
"Couldn't you just send out a messenger?"
"No," Edmund and Susan say together.
"Really, I think it would be much more efficient," Peta says. "And cheaper."
"No," Edmund says again.
Peta opens her mouth to say something else, then pauses. "I'm going to throw up now," she announces, and makes a hasty exit to the attached bathroom, shortly followed by the sound of retching.
"She's going to start yelling again," Edmund predicts and goes to catch Caspian by the arm, towing him out of the room. "Let's go get something to drink."
"But --"
"She is, isn't she?"
"Yes, but --"
"So we'll be better off. Su can explain everything."
Susan looks up from the fabric samples. "You'll hear the screaming in about five minutes," she says, sighing.
"This is true," Caspian says, "but I don't think I should --"
"Yes," Edmund says firmly, "you should. Before she throws something at you."

Date: 2008-09-22 02:56 am (UTC)This is fantastic. I am sort of at a loss for words. Okay, I will try to find some coherency.
I know Lucy isn't really in this, but I love her kicking her feet on Peta's bed and being snarky.
And Edmund and Susan, a united force against the crazyness that is Peta. They seem closer than Peter's Ed & Su, at least the second time around. Also, I love the part where she doesn't know how far along she is and looks at Edmund and he's all "How am I supposed to know?" Ed, you kill me with your awsomeness.
And Peta and Caspian, seriously cavity inducing. I actually really like him, mostly because he's so good to her, it's adorable.
"Really?" Peta says, looking a little more interested. Or at least less like she wants to kill something.
This is my absolute favorite line. Its so Peta. Blah, blah, blah, wedding, blah, red, blah, sex, blah, ... wait, SEX?
And also, "Yes," Edmund says firmly, "you should. Before she throws something at you." Edmund, WHY ARE YOU SO AWSOME?
I am refraining from copying and pasteing like, the whole freaking thing, and I love how my comment isnt in order, uh, at all.

Date: 2008-09-22 03:16 am (UTC)Why should Peta know when she got pregnant? She has important things to worry about! It could have been any of...a lot of times. *cough* (Although really, it's the time right after the battle when Peta dragged Caspian off to the side of the How.)

Also, I just remembered that all these Pevensies die, and now I'm really sad. I mean, I know we still have Peter's Pevensies, but it's still really depressing to think that these Pevensies end up getting killed or commiting suicide.
Now I am wondering what would have happened if Peta's Pevensies didn't really die and Peta's Pevensies and Peter's Pevensies meet up when Peter's Pevensies went back to rescue Caspian. I am imagining the Edmunds being really skeptical and distrustful and the Lucys being really excited and the Susans being wary.

Date: 2008-09-22 04:10 am (UTC)Also, some for thought: I know it's a little late now to change, but why was it Edmund at all? The reason he voluntered in Peter's case was becasue they didn't want and incestious hier so it wouldn't make sense for Edmund to volenteer when they know there's a chance for her to get pregnant. He would have been the last person to volenteer. It makes more sense for Susan (or Lucy, but I imagine they vetoed Lucy) to volenteer to be the "bride" because they know they can't impregnate eachother. Please feel free to contradict as they are your characters (well technacily they are Lewis but, whatever).
DUN DUN DUN! Secret plot twists make me happy.
